This place has been around for years. It has changed owners. The recent owners have been there for a long time now. This is a Sicilian cuisine cafeteria style eatery. They are famous for their panelle, pasta con sardi, and Pulpo salad. So it not the way it was years ago but it is still good. I truly miss those... More

It's been some time since I have been at Joe's but I had memories of eating until I could not move with friends in their plastic covered booth, drinking gritty wine. I took my wife there. It took us an hour through the traffic over from Manhattan to Avenue U in Brookly to drive there. The first thing that always... More

The food is authentic Sicilian home cooked and delicious. Rice balls are the best. I've been eating them over 40 yrs. The tripe is amazing. Panelle sandwich is good too. Try the octopus salad-excellent!!

This is a place you go to eat. The decor is like any other pizza parlor in the city ( a little messy and not fancy) and the display cases look like a large variety of Italian dishes you might find in a specialty deli. We were 2 couples and we ordered panelles, vastede, escarole, broccoli rabe, calamari, and potato... More

Go. Try the adventurous stuff (Panelle, Pasta con Sarde, Squid Ink, Bacala), try some wine, and appreciate that a place like this exists in America.

The food was terrific and the same as if you were in Palermo. I would have preferred a better décor to give that Sicilian look

A colleague has been bringing food from Joe's to work for years. Friends and I had to go to Gravesend, so we made a pit stop. These are probably the best rice balls I've ever had. We tried the rice ball special, but prefer the plain. The special, to us, had too much sauce and cheese. I ordered the chicken... More

We left Brooklyn 10 years ago for Long Island and boy do I miss this place. We try to go to Joe's for lunch whenever we are in Brooklyn and whenever the mood strikes us. The rice ball special is delicious, their panelle sandwiches are unbelievable, their potato croquette sandwiches, their pasta of the day.....I could go on and on.... More

I last dined at Joe's several years ago, and I was pleased to find that they are still serving up first-rate Sicilian specialties. This was the first time that I have not ordered the Vastedda (I have recently given up all Veal). I missed this very special sandwich, but I ordered my second favorite, Pol Po salad...delicious! The other folks... More
