Food was indeed good. We all had the schnitzel, preceded by Brussels sprouts and a nice flatbread with bacon and cheese. Perhaps too many sweet things with the schnitzel? Wine was excellent! Service was negligible, a bit forced. Apfel strudel was very good, but lacked that something to be excellent. Would go back, but would recommend with caveats.

We have been twice so far and had a very good experience each time. Good service, great cocktails, delicious food, very nice atmosphere, and all reasonably priced. Nothing not to like. Very good restaurant, in a great location, which we will return to again and again.

Cheerful, efficient German-ish eatery offers small plates, main courses, and a good selection of wine and beer.

Fun place to go at the holidays or any time of year. The ambiance is perfect--idealized Old World mood with whimsical touches. If you're looking for traditional German fare, this wouldn't be it. More like a modern, lighter take on middle European cuisine.

The Berlyn in Brooklyn gives you the atmosphere of Berlin, the drinks and the food and the location. It's in opposite of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, so you can first go to the cinema or theater and talk it over in Berlyn. With a good beer and meal.

Fun bustling restaurant with a serious bar across from BAM. One complaint is that the cocktails came out after the food even though they were ordered first and of course should come out first and solo. The schnitzel was particularly good as is the smoked trout. Well-selected wine list. Just what you want before or after a show.

A play on spelling brings you to a restaurant with a new twist of German with a great wine and bier list and an interesting and delicious menu. Being a fan of all things Deutsch, I got the chance to enjoy this relatively new addition to the Brooklyn Academy of Music and Theatre for a New Audience neighborhood. You will... More

Poor reception from the owner (?),even more cold from the lady serving us. Took 10 minutes to bring wine, and my potato pancakes arrived on a messy arranged plate and were about a third of the size shown on their www. Kitchen closes at twelve , though restaurant opposite the BAM theatre. A place never to return to.
