Just the place for a drop-in coffee, tea or a hot chocolate. Friendly, warm, appreciative and helpful staff, in a cosy environment.

McCafferty's is a cozy little shop in DT Fairbanks. The staff is friendly, helpful to visitors, and delivers service with a smile. That said, I wasn't entirely impressed with the espresso I ordered (it was extremely bitter!) and the pastries they have for sale are not made in-house (they come from a nearby Safeway). While I truly appreciated the hospitality... More

Sit back, enjoy the coffee and/or a cup of soup with a newspaper, book or smart-phone. A diverse place to get to know your neighbors or fellow travelers. We need more of these kind of “retreats” from the daily hassles.

In 2012 I visited Fairbanks for the first time and found this little coffee shop. I enjoyed it so much that I searched it out on my second visit in 2016. The staff are warm and friendly and the atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. The coffee and hot chocolate are barista standard; the lunch menu is simple but delicious... More

McCafferty's on Cushman was our first taste of Fairbanks and our introduction came in large cups of delicious coffee and a Barista who made us feel so welcome and gave us a map of the town and advice on various places to avoid and visit - she was right on all counts; I think she had travelled up from Orlando... We stopped by for coffee and ended up having a bowl of absolutely delicious vegetable soup with our lattes. The coffee and the food were worth the price and the stop. Look up this place a bit off the beaten path on Cushman St. You won't be sorry.

I went mid morning hoping to have breakfast. They really don't have anything to eat and I ended up having a bagel with cream cheese besides the coffee. Great service but if you want something to eat do not go there.

The girl who helped me take breakfast back to our hotel room was absolutely wonderful. We packed up coffee, cereal, yogurt, muffins and fruit and I was set. The coffee was wonderful compared to what the hotel was serving!
