We were hungry after a day of touring battlefields and just happened by Dixie Bones. We all decided on pulled pork sandwiches, so I can't speak to any other entrees. The meat was tender and yummy with just a hint of char. They had three different sauces. The "traditional" and "rib" sauces were tomato based sauces and has strong overtones... More

The restaurant being completely empty and the staff looking annoyed that i walked through the door should have been the indicator to the food and service that i was going to get. The food was cold and lacked season and I got the wrong sides with one of the platers i ordered. I will not return to this establishment.

First thing i noticed when i walked in, Cool decor on the inside, they went out of their way to make it look like a rad Bbq dive. Second the lack of smoke smell even though the name is Smokey Bones. Third the prices were pretty upity. Which isnt a new thing for most modern Bbq joints like this, and... More

Atmosphere was great. Staff was friendly. Had the chopped pork. Meat was good. It came un-sauced which is how I like it. There were 4 choices of sauces. Did not like ANY of them. Probably the first time that has ever happened at any BBQ place I've eaten in the last 50 years. YMMV The sides were OK. Might go... More

Stopped in here when heading up 95 after hearing some good recommendations from friends. Glad we did. It was easy to get to from the exit (less than a minute from exit) and the food was great. We had brisket, pulled pork, mac and cheese, muddy spuds, and hush puppies. The hush puppies weren't my favorite (too much onion) but... More

Celiac be cautious. There is gluten free options and I took the chance. The food was really good. Potatoes not my preference but we're okay. The waiter was really on top of things.

Well after many people telling us how great the food was and how wonderful the sauce was that resembled the BBQ sauce you could get down in North Carolina, we decided to stop in. The place only had about 4 patrons on a Sat at 1230pm. I love BBQ and so I was very excited to try there food as... More

I couldn't figure out if I should rate this average or very good. I had stopped in for a pork sandwich on two separate Friday's. Both times, the pork sandwich was amazing. I convinced my husband to go with me on a Saturday and the food was horrible. I was so embarrassed and I will not take anyone else there.... More

We stopped at Dixie's in the middle of a rainstorm having never been or even heard of it. Definitely our lucky day. For the most part the food was great. The BBQ was delicious, the various sides we tried: Mac and cheese, cole slaw, and muddy spuds were outstanding. The half chicken, though, was very dry and the pecan pie... More
