Food here was awesome. They've got an artsy hipster vibe going. Not really into it, but the paninis were absolutely delicious. Nothing special in the decor, but they keep it clean and everyone working there is super friendly.

Loved the unique menu and great vibe. Also, coffee is wonderful! And the name is very cool! Trendy, great place for students, vegans, scholars and tourists!

Visited the sentient bean during a week day, found the people friendly and the facility clean and unique. I had the Greek isles panini which was very good. The restaurant is located right next to forsyth park, also worth a visit.

I love this place! The food is fresh and delicious, the staff excellent and lots of yummy vegan and vegetarian choices. Try the Earl Grey with lavender tea, any tea cake, muffin or cookie for a snack. To really fuel up I love the Vegan version of the Protein Salad! This is by far the best Vegan food I have... More

Whether this cafe is average or better, depends, I guess, on whether you are into natural foods and drinks. My wife and I stopped in for hot chocolates after visiting the adjacent natural foods store. We were satisfied with our drinks. Everything seems to be organic, and the coffee beans are fair traded and small batch roasted. There are all... More

I love eating vegetarian food, but this restaurant needs to upgrade both its food and its atmosphere.

My husband is vegan and finding a good vegan friendly restaurant is not easy...this one is very vegan friendly while offering something for the non-vegan diner as well. Good food, lay back atmosphere. This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. Is a must visit when we visit Savannah. Yummm

I went out of my way to visit this cafe twice during a long weekend stay in Savannah. It's cozy and welcoming and the staff at the register were really friendly. Highly recommend the Green Brain smoothie, which had a unique flavor I've never had with a smoothie before, and the Iced Tea of the day.

We stop here on Saturdaysfor breakfast before the farmers market. Quirky decor with friendly helpful staff. The coffee is delicious and the breakfast bowl is my favorite. My husband had the breakfast burrito and it was very good. Been here for lunch too. The make a fresh salad and queso no queso is a great vegan option. It is on... More

My husband loved his latte and I loved my hot chocolate with soy. The drinks came out right away but it took longer for the vegan tempeh bowl and lentil soup. As it turned out, the food was great, too. My husband quickly ate up the very hearty and filling lentil soup while I discovered the tempeh was delicious. The... More

Since the Bean (as it’s known in the neighborhood) opened its doors in 2001, we’ve tried to make decisions that are good for our customers, our community, and our environment. Strangely enough, we also believe that this way of doing business is good for the bottom line. Our fair-trade coffee is organic, as is our produce and most of our staple ingredients. We are committed to using locally grown ingredients as much as possible, don’t fry anything, and make most of our food from scratch. We are vegetarian, and very vegan and gluten-free friendly! In 2008 we got rid of disposable plastic ware and we continue to recycle and compost. We host almost nightly events organized by members of the community and we strive to be welcoming to even the strangest among us. Check out our website for upcoming events.
