..... Just to tell you what you're eating! Dish after dish comes your way, and if you're not southern you might not know what they are. If not adventurous you probably won't try them because there is so much to choose from you might stick to the familiar. Save a tiny bit of room at the end for dessert. We... More

10 people at a table served family style with Southern cooking and southern iced tea. Plenty for everybody fried chicken and ham were the main courses and at least 10 side dishes. Thought they would have had better deserts and water was difficult to get but definitely a do once experience.

Eating at Mrs Wilkes is a delightful experience. You sit around a large table, often with someone you have never met. The food is served family style, I have always found good conversation to complement the excellent meal. The dining area reminds me of eating at my grandmothers on Sundays. Get there early, there is usually a line and depending... More

Our group of 5 arrived about 10 minutes before the restaurant opened. The line to get in stretched down the block and around the corner. After just over 2 hours we were finally shown to our table. Just before you are seated the food is delivered and set on your table family style, and you share your meal with others.... More

Mrs Wilkes is more than a restaurant, it's a cultural food experience!! Skip Paula's place and head to the real southern cuisine in Savannah, Mrs Wilkes on Jones St. Breakfast and lunch only and be prepared to stand in line on one of the prettiest streets in Savannah!! It's a "don't miss" stop when in Savannah!!

So much food. Tasted so good. Tummy hurts now. Why, oh why, did I eat breakfast this morning? I will be dreaming about fried chicken tonight. I will wake up with a pillow that is wet from drool.

We get to Savannah from time to time, and always include a lunch stop at Mrs. Wilkes' on every visit. The food is strictly Southern -- what we know in New Jersey as "soul food," though I doubt that that's what Mrs. Wilkes would have called it. I wouldn't rate this regional cuisine up there with Italian, Indian, or Japanese,... More

We arrived about 5 minutes before the restaurant opened on a Monday morning. The line was already wrapped around the corner. We waited 2 hours and 15 minutes but it was worth the wait. We spent the time in line in conversation so it was was pleasant. The food was delicious! It was down home southern cooking and there was... More

Mrs. Wilkes was recommended by a women who was sitting with me on the plane to Savannah. She said we just had to eat there it was excellent. She told us to arrive a little early because hours are limited and there is always a line. She was right-we only waited about 10 minutes and went in to find our... More

We just returned from a trip to Savannah and stopped at Mrs. Wilkes for lunch one afternoon. First of all, if you are going, try to get there when the doors open because you will wait outside the restaurant for at least 40 minutes if you don't. The food received mixed reviews from the four of us. Two of us... More
