Stopped by on the way home for lunch. If you want authentic Cuban food you need to come here. Place is very clean and reasonably priced. Staff is attentive. Waitstaff and manager are all Cubans. A pleasure to dine here. Recommended!! Pictured is what's left of roast pork with black beans and rice. Plantains were very good.

Our family found this "best kept secret" some years ago. We love the roast pork, the desserts and the service. It's nice without being stuffy and pretentious. The staff are always friendly and helpful. If you're in the mood for Cuban fare, good food at fair prices and wonderful service....look no further than Havana-Jax Cafe.

The staff was friendly and the food arrived fairly quickly. The place was clean and well kept. Dinner was around $15 per person plus drinks. The yellow rice and black beans were really good.

I Thought the food portions were too small especially for the prices they charge. Just because you put glass tops on tables with paper place mats in a low income strip store doesn't mean it's high end.

I've had my share of Cuban sandwiches, but they have one of the best I've had. The ham is really special. They've also got a Cuban buffet for lunch some days - you'll be sure to overeat. I know I did - but it was great!

Overpriced and not good. My son's Paella was mostly rice. He said he thought the fish in it tasted "fishy", now his stomach has been doing the rumba all night. The best thing we ordered was the black bean dip and plantain chips for an appetizer. The chicken croquettes were horrible. The 3 dishes we ordered were mostly rice.

It's been a dozen years since I worked in this area and this was one of my favorite spots for lunch. I'm so glad I went out of my way today to have lunch here. Had the media noches and it was every bit as good as I remembered, as was the service and the atmosphere.

we ordered cubanos and roast pork sandwiches, and they were as advertised: yum. We ended with cuban coffee and are still awake. I want to return for the dancing on the weekend.

The manager (owner?) recommended the Churrasco (the most expensive item on the menu), so we ordered it and also ordered the Picadillo. The picadillo was better, with a bigger portion; the Churrasco portion was quite small and it was only okay.

They say you can't get a good Cubano north of Tampa. They were wrong. Great cured ham and well seasoned pork. Only thing that kept this from being a 5star review was that they were out of the special egg bread to make a Media Noche. Service was prompt, courteous and professional. Best Cuban Sandwich in Jacksonville so far.
