Stepping into a wonderful and relaxing past, this cafe has real food in a beautiful site and comfort in pretty little cabins. The proximity to scenic El Morro makes it also a great plus. Very friendly atmosphere in a timeless place!

Stop here. If you are on this otherwise uncrowded highway, this is one of the few places to sit and eat and you will not be dissappointed. Extensive menu with food cooked with care and good ingredients. In the summer it must be an oasis. So low down and enjoy. Prices well within reason. Homemade pies and baked goods. Very... More

Been coming to this area for years and we always eat at the Ancient Way Cafe. Menu changes but whatever is offered is always excellent. Dinners are offered on weekends sometimes, but check first and make sure they add you to the count so enough food is prepared. If you are staying overnight in the area, you will need to... More

The Ancient Way Cafe has a nice selection of lunch choices to include vegetarian selections. But the desert selections are fabulous! The wait staff, only one, is courteous and friendly.

We drove by at night, and were attracted by the peace sign. We went back the next day to have lunch. The food was wonderful and there was a large selection. We had fresh squeezed lemonade, which was a special treat. The service was great! The portions were huge, so we went back the next day to try the desserts.... More

If you are on your way to El Morro or the Malpais this is a great place to stop and grab a cup of coffee or a meal. Good menu and a giant cinnamon roll that will keep two of you busy! A beautiful setting.

Amazing food! This cafe in the middle of a wonderful New Mexico landscape has an amazing menu. What a surprise and can't wait to go back. I had the huevos rancheros ( terrific) and my mom and sister had build your own omelettes. The baked goods are homemade on site and are worth the stop with a great cup of... More

Stopped here after visiting El Morro. This is obviously a place that would be at home in San Francisco or the Oregon Coast. All are welcome and the staff have that laid back hippie feel. But they do serve what looks to be good food with a varied menu and excellent coffee.

Very quaint restaurant along Highway 53 not too far from El Morro National Monument. Menu. Is similar to a bistro. Not just hamburgers. Had a bean sandwich with potato salad and my husband had a turkey on sourdough with potato salad as well. The sandwiches and potato salad were excellent. Homemade food and homemade variety of desserts. Prices were reasonable.... More

Personnel at the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary recommended this restaurant for breakfast last Monday (May 16). What a winner! The breakfast and coffee were delicious, and the pastries are outstanding. Both the breakfast and pastry chefs know what they are doing. I wish this place were closer to home because my husband and I would be regulars!
