We had dinner here while waiting to take our ghost tour. We waited 25 minutes to be crammed into a table that barely had enough room to get into. The food was just average but our server kept this rating from being lower.

Can I just type out YUM a million times?! We have eaten lunch here a few times within the past year, and each time does not disappoint. The tavern is in the cellar and provides a great atmosphere, but the food really brings it home....More

As always they have great food.... constrained in the size of the dining room due to the historic nature of the building..they however always provide an excellent dining experience. I am not a fan of French Onion soup, but they have a great one! Highly...More

One of the Oldest Buildings in Gettysburg. The Wait Staff were in Period clothing. Loved the atmosphere of this place. Quiet. Candle Light. Served us a big basket of warm delectable bread. Fresh Crisp Salad. I had the Orange Roughy. Husband had the Veal. Both...More

Well, two things. First, the place smelled really old. I mean like they need a serious dehumidifier. I get old. My own home was built in the late 1800's. I felt like I was eating in my basement. Second, it was a stop on the...More

The wife and I ate here on our 1st & 2nd night in Gettysburg. The dining experience was excellent in both the cellar tavern and in the home. This is a restaurant that should be tried due to the age and history of the building...More

Dobbins House Tavern is in a house built in 1776. The atmosphere is nice in historical surroundings. The food and the service is average. The meals are overpriced for average fare. If you are in Gettysburg as a tourist, DHT is good for one meal.

We were really excited about the idea of eating in the cellar tavern of this historic building. The food (roast beef sandwich on focaccia and chips, open face Reuben with potato salad) was good but not great. The server was very friendly and helpful, but...More

If you are looking for a dining experience, the Dobbins House thrusts its customers into the Colonial period. Dinner was great and the fried apples were an interesting treat. The wait staff are dressed in period costume, the tavern is quaintly dark, and the tables...More

Not down in the Tavern, but upstairs they do. I find that if you eat dinner around 4:00, you don't have to wait long to be seated. If you go after 5:00, the wait can be quite long. Especially around 6:00-7:00

Yes, upstairs is fine dining & opens later. We loved the downstairs “old tavern” look. Great ambiance, food & service!!

You would have to ask the restaurant owner that question, I wouldn't know the answer.
