This restaurant begins with a very good impression of a Greek Taverna with vaulted stone ceilings, plenty of timber, and fishing boat sails hanging to dry. We had reservations and were immediately guided to our table upon arrival. The place was full, apparently with pre-performance guests, but also with a good number of families out for a Sunday dinner. The... More

We ate on the sidewalk, which was roped off. The wait staff was very attentive, as my 89 year old grandmother was with us. The kitchen made accommodations for her requests, as she has become a less adventurous eater over the decades. The remaining two of us ate off of the menu. The lamb and grilled asparagus were wonderful. I... More

Business visit, someone else paying. Clearly very popular. Food was good, the set 3 course theatre menu (which i did not have) seemed good value.

On a whim, we decided to try Estia – Greek with $$$$. Could the experience be worth that price point? We can only comment on the $19 two course lunch. Our dishes were traditional for sure but with added touches that elevated them to fine dining. For example, the grilled octopus was dressed up with a colorful and tasty mix... More

Much larger than a typical Greek restaurant, but it is broken up into discrete areas. Menu items mostly have a little extra twist, which together with excellent service goes some way to justifying the high prices

My husband and I recently had dinner at Estia while visiting Philadelphia on a weekend away. We really enjoyed our meal. We shared several dishes: the Estia chips, the grilled shrimp appetizer, the dip trio, and the horiatiki salad. This was plenty of food for the two of us, as we had eaten a larger lunch earlier in the day.... More

Ate here prior to a show at Verizon Hall /Kiimmel Center. They do a theatre special - 3 courses for $33. each and for Greek food it was good - Service here is outstanding - fast and efficient. Only issues were it was CROWDED and NOISY but welcome to the city I guess

Estia is my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. My husband and I frequently eat at the bar, ordering small plates to share. Additionally, we always take our out of town friends and family there. The atmospher is very enticing and the food excellent, the service is flawless.

I made reservation for my wedding anniversary. My husband and I ordered fresh koutsomoura fish fried, sardines in grill with lemon and fresh parsley, tzatziki, tirokafteri, fresh cut fried fries, horta salad, fried calamari. We drunk Retsina wine and we mixed it with coca-cola as we usually do in Greek. The atmosphere was absolutely FANTASTIC with a live instrument music... More
