My husband and I both ordered from the special menu as it was Sunday night and we guessed the kitchen might be short staffed. Our waiter made recommendations and she was right. She also guided us in our beer selections.

We ate here after reading the Tripadvisor reviews and because it was pretty close to our hotel. It's a bit smaller inside than I thought it would be (unless there is a second floor?) The decor/atmosphere is somewhere between Irish Pub and early American saloon....More

This is a staple every time we come to Philadelphia. Love the atmosphere, food and drinks. Highly recommend their wings and French Onion soup.

Worth a visit to see the atmosphere in this back street very old Pup. Very popular and whilst I only drank here (great choice of beers), the menu looked great and they were doing take outs as well. Very reasonably priced food.

During a week in Philly we visited more than once, having had a recommendation to have a drink there. We did not eat there but the food looked good. The atmosphere in the bar was great, with a wide selection of beers. The bar has...More

My spouse and I visited McGillin’s Olde Ale House on a Saturday afternoon in late June 2017. We stayed nearby at the Holiday Inn Express Midtown, and we looked for a bar nearby where we could enjoy our own happy hour. McGillin’s is open daily...More

I first visited this pub back in 1973. I was on a weekend pass from basic training at Fort Dix NJ. Two friends and I decided to take the bus into Philly. We were wandering around center city and happened to ask a young couple...More

McGillin's a pretty good spot for lunch. I had the Reuben with chips, which I enjoyed. Prices were very reasonable, and service was good. The only knock is that during the summer when their AC is on, it can get incredibly cold if you're sitting...More

Very noisy BUT it's a bar so what I would expect. Service was not good. Cute waitress who spent more time talking to her cohorts. Food was pub style, nothing special. I had the corned beef sandwich that came on two slices of wonder bread...More

Tom: My family & I strive to make every guest happy, so we're sorry you weren't delighted with your experience here. I'm concerned that the waitress wasn't attentive and would like to address that. Do you recall her name or can you describe her? Also,...More

Rick: Sorry, we just saw your message. During the day, we get lots of families. Kids really enjoy our comfort food & casual atmosphere. Great families for lunch/dinner, especially around the holidays, but not at night.
