We went to Pat's because Geno is also just in front and we could try and compare both Cheesesteak. It was not a bad sandwich but 5 out of 5 of us voted Geno's to be more tasty. Better cheese, warmer and crunchier roll, nicer grilled onions. The claim to be the original steak sandwich so I guess you need... More

This place is an institution! You just can't go wrong if you are hungry for a Philly Cheese Steak. Fried unions and ketchup and I am content.

Both Pats and Geno's, directly across from each other, draw thousands, daily. For those who live here, though , the competition has gotten out of control, in a good way Yelp, is a good source , Google Phila Cheesesteaks also , as an Excellent Unbiased opinion, its where, those who know , go There is NO sitdown here , for... We live in DMV and riding up to Philly is a breeze when the craving chases you. A few friends of our had never been it was a nice day so why not. The line was ridiculous, but moved pretty fast. I can't say I've ever been there and not waited in-line. This should say something about the food. Google... More

After asking about 10 different people from philly were to go for a "wiz wit" about half pointed us towards pats king of steaks. The sandwich was very good, steak, cheese wiz and fried onions "wiz wit". The cost about 10 bucks a sandwich. They did not sell cheese steak hoagies, which is a cheesesteak with lettuce tomatoes and mayo.... More

We've been to Gino's, and now we've tried Pat's! The cheese steak sandwiches at both of them are really good so it's a matter of personal taste. I think we liked Pat's a little better but not by much. We have also been to John's but only had the roast pork sandwich so now we have to try their cheese... More

We did typical tourist thing: get a cheesesteak from Geno and one from Pat. I was overwhelmed by fatty greasy mess, but my son enjoyed both and preferred Pat's. It is definitely very fun getting in line in this old eatery associated with Rocky movie, ordering and observing pretty colorful in a good way and wonderfully efficient crew handle meat... More

I visited the place just before sinking my teeth into one of Geno's cheese steaks to draw comparison between the two. The places likely live off tourism, regardless, I enjoyed the meal I had at both placed. However, Pat's' was better, in my opinion. The beef was chopped finer and I was handed the sandwich even before I had time... More

Don't get me wrong Pat's Steaks are good, but now they're losing touch with the tourist. Locals understand the menu etc, but some tourist are clueless on how to order. When the customer service catches up with the taste of the product, then and only then do their ratings improve.

Eating at Pat's for the first time in years made me realize how deprived I was of a real cheesesteak. The steak has a perfect long cut savoriness to it and the roll is fresh. I highly recommend wit onions and wiz. A+ for service, food came out within seconds. Can't go wrong with Pat's!
