How much you like this restaurant will depend a lot on what you order. It's a small menu and the offerings change frequently. So I can't say to you get this appetizer or that entree and you'll be fine. Every meal is a crapshoot. My app of an autumn lettuce salad was disappointing. The pears were flavorless, the walnut vinaigrette... More

Decent restaurant. Good foot prepared in an upscale New American style. Not many choices. BYOB which is always great. Wait staff were professional and obtrusive, but down to earth. Nice lighting in the restaurant. Food was decent for the price

In the location where Ernesto's served for years, I hoped for an equal experience. Russet delivered. We had the Sunday Supper--a four course meal that was interesting and stimulating to the tastebuds. Other than the chicken dish, which was slightly overcooked and a little dry, everything was excellent. I would go back.

Pretty disappointing. Waiter was a little off putting. $22 for a pepper dish which had no flavor and was not impressive at all. Really stinks to write a bad review and if there was one redeeming thing I wouldn't but, the price is ridiculous and the flavors really stink

tonight during our most recent visit to Philly. This was one of the places we always visited when we came to town. Had the brisket, that was supposedly coked all night. It was the most tough, fatty piece of beef I have ever eaten in my life! 50% of it was a lump of fat, the rest of it was... More

This small restaurant was recommended by friends who are foodies and wine afficienados and are vegetarians. We are carnivores and all of us spent a delightful evening vegetarian and meat eaters together enjoying great food. It's BYOB, as it apparently doesn't have a liquor license. We brought 2 bottles of our choice but the BYOB aspect would probably have deterred... More

One of the more flavorless and uncreative trout entrees ever. Misleading menu description and one of the ensemble components was left off No return trip for me

I chose Russet for our last meal in Philly before heading home. Portions were tiny and not billed as small plates. I had super high expectations but overall Russet disappointed. We had smoked Salmon which was super great. Cheesy grits were tasty but a little hard and not so cheesy. Lamb was over cooked and shy for a decent portion.... More

Brunch at Russert was a huge let down ! Looking forward to eating at Russert as it made the top fifty list for Philadelphia magazine, which is usually a pretty reliable list. The space is rustic but quaint. The menu was very limiting only offering about 6 entrees. Wait staff was friendly but became unattentive as we progressed through the... More

We went to Russet in March with three other couples. The restaurant is unique as it is in a brownstone house. My husband had the lamb which was done quite differently than the usual lamb. He said that it was delicious. I had the black sea bass which was quite tasty. We bought our own wine, as Russet does not... More
