I grew up in Detroit, where they actually have a Greektown area that's bursting with Greek restaurants, pastry shops, etc. And ever since they built stadiums for the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Lions right next door, hotels and casinos have been sprouting up in and near that treasured island of Mediterranean delights. In contrast, when I moved to Philly... More

Greek-style food in a quaint little spot in downtown Philly. Food was incredible. Service was excellent (thank you, Jesse and other staff). A great find with a nice atmosphere. Only downsides: 1) no option suitable for kids. Now, it's really not a family restaurant to be fair. However, it's still nice to be able to enjoy an adult dinner and... More

First time at brunch. Only party in the restaurant. Service not on target, server could not explain some items on the menu. Bloody Mary not as described on the menu. Food good, but portions very small. Figured out why other spots had lines outside, and no one in restaurant, but us. Go for dinner, skip the brunch.

This was my first time visiting and we had a larger group (12). We ordered all sorts of small plates from the menu- the food comes out as it is ready so we had a steady stream of terrific flavors. The staff was very nice and accommodating to our questions. Throughout the meal we kept changing places to be able... More

We stumbled upon Opa just because we were tired and it was directly behind our lodging. Boy did we luck out! The 4 of us decided to order the Chef's Four Course Dinner as recommended by our outstanding server, Stephanie. It was the most amazing dining experience we have had in a long time! I can't describe every dish in... More

I ordered several things off the small plates style menu when I was here with a coworker for dinner a few nights ago and everything we tried was delicious. It was also so much food that we had to take quite a bit of it to go! The restaurant itself is super stylish and chic. The service was great and... More

Entered 'just' as opening at 11:30......greeted by friendly server Alyssa....and seated at front table with a sidewalk view on a sunny day. I had previously checked the menu....and ordered the Spanakopita w/village salad (tomatoes, cucumbers, kalamata olives, peppers, onions and feta cheese)......and of course Greek red wine. My lunch was delicious....a beautiful presentation....and large! This spanakopita is not what you... More

This is a small plates Greek restaurant so we ordered 9-10 dishes for the three of us and had a bit left over. Every dish we ordered was amazing - I recommend the garlic spread, the village salad, hanger steak, saganaki cheese and Greek cheese plate. Its a great place to enjoy a relaxing meal of non-typical Greek food. We... More

I'm going to start off by saying the food is absolutely wonderful, and would 100% go back for the food, however we had some very poor service while dining here. Mya, the hostess, called 15 minutes before our reservation at 8 to tell us to arrive on time so we can order before the kitchen closes at 9. I assumed... More

Description
Opa is a new Modern Greek restaurant and bar located in Center City's Midtown Village neighborhood. The menu features a fresh take on traditional Greek flavors. Featured items from the mezedes (small plates) include herbed keftedes (meatballs) in a ouzo-tomato sauce, octopus and spinach croquettes served with a smokey feta dip. Large plates offer a variety of items such as striped bass and pastitsio. The signature cocktail list and Greek wine selection offer the perfect complement to your meal. Acclaimed designer, Jun Aizaki/Creme, created an alluring setting which includes a striking birch branch canopy.

Walk-in seating is available at the 24 seat bar and offers the full menu.
