Decided to check it out. It was just a short walk from hotel. Didn't think I could get great Cajun food this far north. Glad I did. Great food. Nice laid back atmosphere. The bartender/manager was great!

Had a lovely lunch outside on Fat Tuesday. The weather was nearly as lovely as my companion. She had the shrimp boil app and I had the shrimp po' boy both were delicious!

If You are looking for N'awlins Cuisine in Philly plan a trip to Catahoula Bar & Restaurant on Front Street. The Abita Amber was cold!! (We were disappointed when they ran out but we did get there late.) The New Orleans BBQ Shrimp entree was delicious. There was an order of The Big Easy Land entree...a super mix of Cajun... More

I have a mixed feeling about this restaurant. The setting is warm and elegant, with a bar. Regarding the food, the jambalaya is decent. But the alligator meatball and etouffee are so so. The etouffee has too much tomato and not enough black pepper. This is not like New Orleans style of cajun. I don't want to say their dish... More

Not even sure where to start. Everything on the menu here is delicious. Chef Dave is a wizard in the kitchen, producing mouth watering dishes on a consistent basis. No matter what I have ordered, he has never disappointed. The stuffed burger with gouda, the NOLA burger, blackened chicken, cajun fried catfish, or the shrimp and grits, I never leave... More

My husband and I ended up eating here because our "go to" restaurant was booked. We read the reviews so we decided on Catahoula. We were pleasantly surprised! Dinner was fabulous! Dessert was even better with the banana foster bread pudding! It's an intimate atmosphere, perfect for date night. This will be our new " go to" restaurant when we... More

while visiting a sick relative in Philly this weekend, I wanted some shrimp and grits so I Google it and came up with this restaurant. The place is small but they also have an outside which is good for warmer weather but it was cold so we sat at the bar! the bartender was nice and very friendly, I order... More

I ordered a bowl of gumbo, it was served to me luke warm and the rice in the center was hard and cold. For my main dish, I ordered the catfish, the breading on the fish was very thick and the fish was fried very hard. The fries, coleslaw and beer were excellent. Also the kitchen was a little slow... I love PoBoy sandwitches, had my share in New Orleans. I was searching for a PoBoy in Philadelphia and saw Catahoula Bar & Restaurant had them. Glad I went, probably the best fried oyster poboy I ever had, bar none. The oysters were so large you can't pick up the poboy and just eat it. I had to cut the... More
