We had late night reservations for drinks (11:30 pm) so we didn't have a chance to try food. The cocktails were great, very unique choices. There was a small band playing jazz which was great, the place was packed and it was a great vibe. Table lit by candles, authentic '20;s feel. Very intimate place..although a little noisy with the... The food &drinks are FABULOUS! We had pickles, clams to start. Both recommended! I got whiskey bartenders pick and they were both excellent! I had the pasta of the day (small plate not so small!) and my husband had the blackened salmon which was excellent! Wrote also had some French pressed decaf coffee and a cheesecake creme brulee! Awesome as... More

The menu is limited (not what you find online), the place is dark and noisy, and the place is overpriced! $9 for a bottled beer, $29 for a chicken breast ($2 more than for short ribs and $1 less than a 10 oz. pork chop), and $25 for a small plate of overcooked paparadelle pasta that was bland (cooked without... My spouse and I had dined here on a recent Friday night, and we had made reservations prior to ensure a table. I would recommend reservations, but if you're going with a small group (2-4) I honestly don't think it's necessary. There is a bar that you can easily sit or stand by for drinks and a light bite. The... More

My first visit, coming on a Friday night at 9:00pm. After reading so many positive reviews, I really wanted to like this place a lot. However, my first impression walking in the door was the smell of kerosene from the numerous lanterns on the tables. I am sensitive to smells, and unfortunately I found this to be slightly nauseating. While... More

My friend and I were in town for a half marathon a few weeks ago and we stumbled upon this gem. We took an uber to the address and when we arrived we couldn't find the entrance since it is not well marked. There is a door with a little flap and that is it.Upon opening the door we were... More

The Bookstore speakeasy gets you in the mood right from the start. Just finding the door makes you feel like you are in on the secret. The decor and atmosphere are perfect, I felt like I was in a New York City restaurant. I ordered the chicken and my wife ordered the steak, both meals were excellent. Only thing I... More

They hide the door in plain sight to start you off with the speakeasy feel / atmosphere. Very cleaver. Great drinks and the food was fabulous.

My husband and I enjoyed a date night here on a Friday evening. The atmosphere was just amazing! This restaurant has so much charm and ambiance! We enjoyed the period cocktails and the delicious food. Our server was excellent and the menu hidden in a book added to the charm. We recommend this restaurant for adults it's not a family... More

I'd been wanting to try this place for ages and finally made it for cocktails with a friend. This place lies behind a non-descript door on a non-descript side street, easy to miss and best located when you have a friend with you who's been there before...just like a real speakeasy! When you enter building you are plunged into another... More
