The food and service just was not in line with the prices! Portions are small, service just so so and really nothing that exciting...used to be a great place but not anymore....

Stopped in after a show and realized why Jay's is still one of the best restaurants in Dayton. Excellent service and I was always beautiful ambience.

I strongly recommend the Cedar Plank Salmon with their garlic mashed potatoes. Also, all desserts made in house from scratch. The chocolate peanut butter tart is to die for!!!

Went here for Christmas Eve dinner. Was very crowded, seating by reservation only. They kept moving tables and chairs around. My steak had a lot of charring on the outside and the inside was more pink then I like, but i ate it anyway. Roasted red potatoes were probably the best think I had. The Caesar salad was good. Waiter... More

Had dinner at Jays to celebrate our engagement anniversary. Yes, we went on to marry and have kids. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the prawns as an appetizer, salmon and a good pairing of wine for dinner. The peppermint dessert was a perfect ending. If you are seated by a window it can be cold, since... More

My wife and I had dinner at Jays last night, and one of the best meals of the year. I had the pepper crusted tuna and she had the plank salmon. Both were cooked to perfection, and the side dishes and salads were excellent. We splurged and had "the four yums" for desert and finished every bite. The service was... More

One of the most beautiful seafood restaurants located in downtown Dayton. Live the architecture setting. Food is reasonable and tasty.

Great atmosphere enhanced with dark wood and red upholstery lend a dignified air. The food is good and the histroic district of Dayton adds a touch of class. Fun place to relax over dinner.

As a person who has spent the majority of his life in Jersey, I generally get skeptical of seafood houses outside of the coasts for the simple reason that the fish is often frozen and transported. When the host of our business trip recommended a seafood restaurant, my skepticism was ready. However, this was quite a nice place. It wasn't... More

Beautiful wood work in historic building, two old carved bars. A real dayton classic, neighborhood a little rough but a nice relief from the seafood chains.
