Don't get me wrong, the food was perfect. However the hostess told us to wait for a table outside the door even though it was a very cold night. We were a party of three and two of us happen to be handicapped. We were happy to comply with hostess' request to wait outside. The hostess told us it would... More

We love this little neighborhood sushi place. Family owned and friendly. The fish is extremely fresh, don't come too late, they run out of fish and then close early.

Koba Sushi has the freshest fish in town. Having lived in Ventura for 30 years, we have tried every new sushi restaurant that comes to Ventura. Koba is hands down the best.

Having lived in Japan for 6+ years, I am very selective about sushi. Koba is great! The husband and wife who own and operate it serve only the best, most tender fish. If you are within an hour's drive of Ventura, it is worth it. This is a local place that stays busy for good reason. There are lots of... More

My wife and I had been going to another sushi restaurant for over twenty years and had never tried Koba, and because it sold and we were looking for a replacement. Wow! What a find! We have been going there now for almost two years and wonder why we had never gone here because it probably would have been our... More

My mother and I enjoyed our meal. She had shrimp and veggie tempura-said the batter was light and food delicious. I had sushi-yellow tail & needle did, as well as spicy scallop bankroll and avocado/eel roll. All the fish was fresh and tasty, very good. Added plus was Sapporo on tap, and the service was excellent. Check out the toilet... More

I started visiting Koba when I married: my husband was tutored in Japanese by one of the servers. The food is superior, whether sushi or cooked items. This place is small, so diners sit close whether at the counter or at a table. Be prepared to wait a while if crowded and try to communicate with server if your order... More

Best sushi! Try the steamed clams. Superb sushi, nice atmosphere, extraordinary service. Clean restaurant, friendly staff. I like it because of the freshness of the fish, and the preparation. It will surpass your expectations by far. This is real Japanese sushi.

Koba sushi is what one might call a 'sleeper'. Located on a corner of a busy street in a neighborhood of grocery stores, gas stations & Big Lots store. You might not seek it out at first glance. It is a nice surprise to find in the area. Once you enter you are greeted by the friendly wait staff &... More

This is a small, local sushi bar in my neighborhood. Everything is fresh and delicious. It is family owned, and we are always treated well. We like the Tempura vegetables, salmon or yellowtail collar, and so much else.
