We had breakfast here twice as the cafe was near our hotel. Self service but tasty food. French toast and pancakes What's not to like. The staff work extremely hard and are friendly and helpful. Good value for money.

After expereiencing the joys of NYC rush hour and getting to our hotel 2 hours after we landed, my family was starving! We walked toward the ESB and wanted to eat around there. Found Cafe Metro and went in. Atmosphere is more of a cafeteria style where you order, they heat it or make it there, you grab your sides... More

Obviously Café Metro is not a restaurant but a self service with people preparing hot food for you on the other side of the counter. The pasta I had was served hot with me picking the pasta and ingredients; it tasted OK.

We just stopped for bagels & coffee and while the food was good, the service sucked. It gets really tiring when visitng NYC when the people runing the business assume you know the deal, the protocl of how their service is delivered and just ignor you when you don't know what is happening, where your food is supposed to be... As we are a family of salad eaters, that's what we craved most in NYC. So finding Metro was the best! Excellent fresh salads, generous portions, super friendly staff. When I asked for extra steak on my salad, I wasn't even charged for that. Son loved his pizza. Certainly worth it. Besides the prices are definitely a benefit considering price... More

This is an amazing place to grab a quick bite and move on it's really really mouth watering food. There is self service and the good part is that you can taste the freshness in the food which makes it even better.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
