The soba is the best we have ever had. Broth, both fish and vegetable are light and tasty, with a low sodium content. Watching the soba Master make it fresh in the front window is interesting and a testament to how fresh SohaKoh's soba is....More

Unfortunatelly the restaurant is small, but the food is very good. The soba is great, the iced tea was delicious and the staff was very nice.

I always go here for soba, their tempura is very good. The service is very attentive. I have had the vegetable and the shrimp tempura, both very good.

Takahashi-san can be seen making soba in the window -- he's a master -- and his delicious noodles are a rare treat in NYC. Highly recommended!

The food here is delicious. I'm a vegetarian so I went for the mushroom soba soup and I have dreaming with it ever since, the broth was just delicious! Attentive service and nice atmosphere plus is not too pricy. I think it shouldn't be missed

You really have to like Japanese food, but the clever waitress guided us away for things she thought might really be beyond our taste. Service was good and it's good value - a place full of the natives is always a good thing

Real Japanese Soba. You cannot get this texture with dry soba. Tasty dip sauce also. First rate soba! I am Japanese who is living here more than 40 years. This place might be the best I've tasted.

East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village,
which offers plenty of unique small businesses
catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college
students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the
old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still
experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned
shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of
the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to
