We ate here twice on our trip. I had a pastrami sandwich and a bagel with lox. Both meals were excellent, and the service was great too. They brought us a "shot" of chocolate soda at the end of each meal, and like everything else,...More

I came here twice for breakfast during a 4 night stay in NYC. The food is great, the service was excellent and the owner very funny while he makes the rounds and chats with the regulars. I had the pastrami sandwich on the first day...More

This was recommended by a neighbor who visits "the City" often. Glad he did. Stereotypical Jewish Deli, wisecracking owner, large sandwiches, emphasis on Jewish/kosher food. Service staff seemed to know most of the customers. Always a good sign.

Very attentive waiters. Good meats and the homemade thousand island dressing is wonderful! Lots of options on the menu. Seems to be popular with the locals as well. They give you homemade pickles too.

I love this place. The Matzoh ball soup and the meats (corned beef, pastrami and brisket) are awesome. Note the soup and half sandwich option on the menu and the "heart attack" sandwich

There is very little that can come close to a good pastrami sandwich from 2nd Avenue Deli. They have superb meats and the rye bread is heavenly. The problem is that it is very hard to substantiate their prices. $22 for a sandwich, even for...More

Great deli on East side of town. Stopped in with some associates. Had the salami sandwich and it was huge. A lot of extra meat on this sandwich if this is what you want. Everything we tried was good. Cost wise is the only downside...More

.....was to eat an authentic pastrami sandwich....and he was not disappointed! This is the place to go, not only for pastrami though-the choice is incredible. Everyone is so welcoming and service is excellent.

Should trip adviser decide my answer is inappropriate, don't post it. It is my honest answer which is trying to help the questioner decide what choice to make. I am suggesting a viable alternative to be constructive.
