Remember when NYC had tons and tons of great coffee shops? Time to take a wonderful time travel trip to The Palace on East 57th Street. Great wait staff who are super accommodating. HUGE portions (splitting is okay with them, no extra charge). Very reasonable prices. Downstairs is a typical coffee shop. Upstairs is quiet and has great views of... More

Good breakfast. Not awesome but good. Waffle eggs bacon and fruit. Coffee was decent. OJ was fresh. Would give them another chance.

It's fine. Nothing to write home about. Service was efficient but not very friendly. Food was just ok. Wouldn't rush back to be honest.

Found this by chance walking around looking for somewhere for breakfast and so glad we did. Our first few days we ate in fancy restaurants, and at fancy prices. Then we stumbled upon the Palace. Seeing on the menu all of what we had eaten the previous day's at less than half the price. Thinking maybe smaller portions, what a... More

There is nothing exceptional about this restaurant but overall you get what you paid for and the service is fast. I chose a turkey wrap and had the sauce separately for some reason. The food was ok. I didn't try the handful of crips thrown on the side. The location is good and it is easy to find.

While using the term Restaurant in the name this is really a diner. If you order dinner in a restaurant after the entree the server asks if you care for dessert. Here they bring the check before clearing the entree away. Good for breakfast, and an afternoon snack, dinner can have it's pitfalls. The Chicken Pot Pie for instance has... More

A year after our last trip to NYC we stopped by for an afternoon cake stop having enjoyed breakfasts here previously. The service was as we remembered, friendly and efficient and the coffee and cakes excellent. So good in fact that we deliberately navigated our way back here the following day for a lunch and cake stop again. Good location... More

My wife and I went for a late weekday morning breakfast and loved it. Nice waiter and good meal. No wait, no rush. Good spot for a good meal.

Only found this place on our last day but was a great spot. Great choice on offer and food was super... so much so that we went back to eat here before we left the city

Being Seinfeld fans we love eating in the old school New York diners and this looked like it fit the bill. Counter seating and booths, breakfast all day. Not cheap and you must like salt I mean really really like salt.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
