We didn't have a reservation but were accommodated with a nice table, beautiful view and treated to the best pasta I've ever had. A couple of cocktails, a beautiful bottle of red and terrific service ensued. I don't speak Italian and I don't know Italian...More

The chicken breast was as dry as Sahara. Pizza without tomatosauce is boring. Steak with four tomatoes and some watercress. This was not worth the price!!!

This place is difficult to get into. You can only book if you are staying at the adjacent hotel, at least that was what we were told. I'm a bit puzzled about the popularity. The food is OK, but relative to the abundent competition did...More

Relaxed restaurant with good eating and wining. Loved the fairly large bar and not to mention the style of it all. Staff were a lot better than average

We went to Gemma's the other day with friends, after a show. The restaurant is very cool - beautiful oak bar, high ceilings etc. The food was pretty good but, the choices are limited. My friend wanted chicken parm - not on the menu and...More

The bar is great with very friendly service. The service in general is good but it is an extremely noisy place with the worse pasta dishes I had in NYC. I had the pappardelle with ragout sauce which was really tasteless and full of salt...More

East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village,
which offers plenty of unique small businesses
catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college
students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the
old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still
experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned
shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of
