We often "eat-in" or "take-out" from this typical NYC pizza restaurant. The pizza is not typical. It is much better than the average pizza by the slice pizza place. The ingredients used are delicious and fresh . The crust is thin and baked just right in their pizza ovens. Their meal portions are large and reasonably priced. The staff is... More

Went here after finding out my old pizzeria had closed after nearly 60 years. I felt coming here a little like a trader, but I had no choice. That being said, they were friendly, and there toppings were very good and tasty. I ordered a pie with peppers and sausages I go. The place was packed and was convenient to... More

After years in the neighborhood, the closing of Mimi's(84//Lex) led us to go further afield for a modest Italian dinner and was this place a surprise . Had always passed it by as just a place for a slice but the fare is much more varied and very delicious. The garlic bread was so rich and greasily delicious that we... More

Visiting NYC with my family first day & stumbled on this place by chance. We hadn't eaten since arriving. The pizza was great.

Too many tables jammed into the space took away from our enjoyment of the meal. Pasta dishes were OK but have definitely had better,

Had a couple of slices of cheese pizza and some miniature paninis. Both were delicious but I like the pizza the best. We also had a chocolate and vanilla mousse and a peanut butter mousse these were delicious as well. It definitely wasn't knock it out of the park delicious but it was still good.

After getting out of MET at 9 pm were looking for something to eat, discovered this small Italian joint and glad we did. The pizzas were terrific as was the cannoli! Want to go back for more!

As family of 3, tracked this place down the day we visited the Met Museum. This area of NY is generally really expensive for eating out, but DPs was both brilliant value and great food. You can queue and order pizza at the counter, grabbing a free seat if one is available after getting your order, but we sat down... More

Super casual and super delicious. If you are willing to walk a straight shot east after you go to the MET, this is worth the walk. Excellent pizza and garlic knots, served flavorful, cheesy and piping hot as it's supposed to be. Order at the counter and then sit in the tiny eating area in the back. Price is fantastic:... More

I've worked in the neighborhood for 20 years and for as long as I've been here, so has Don Filippo. I've eaten everything from slices, to pies to heros to dinners. The food and service are consistently good. They have a variety of speciality pies and your typical Italian menu and all my selections have been top notch. In a... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
