Wow! We knew after the first bite of the warm chocolate peanut butter chip cookie why the line was out the door. Delicious! We bought a few of each flavor to take to a dinner get together, they were the hit of the evening. Yum!

My friends and I have planned on visiting Levain Bakery for years but for some reason we never got there. This visit to NYC, we made sure we could get to the bakery and find out what everyone is talking about. When we got to the bakery, we could smell cookies as soon as we got to the doorway. There... We came here while cycling around central park to buy some cookies - when we got back to our bike then someone had stuck a nail in the tyre which was annoying, but the cookies were absolutely amazing, so even then it was definitely worth it!! Firstly, the cookies are huge - we bought 3 and they weighed more than... More

Umm, oops, strike that. Our country home is in Virginia. Our apartment is on the Upper Westside a ten minute walk from Levain. A suggestion, please dear tourists do not visit Levain while you're in the City! We and the other locals want them all for ourselves. Thank youse guys!

Of course there is no context when it comes to the most mouth watering cookie you will ever eat! Bizarrely located under a waxing salon with a telltale queue leading out from underneath making an obvious sign of its popularity! Great, friendly and attentive staff happily explain what's on offer. My recommendation is the walnut and chocolate cookie. Once you... More

As a home-baker, I've long prided myself on my yen for whipping up homemade cookies on the fly. I held out high expectations for Levain's chocolate walnut chip cookie. It was, hands down, an out-of-this world experience. Gooey on the inside, crisp and firm on the outside, this cookie is perfect. And huge! Share with someone special or make it... More

This bakery is located down a set of steps - I accidentally tried to go up a set next to them (oops)...The cookies are delicious, but they didn't have but 2 flavors to choose from when I was there. Would recommend, but don't expect tons of options when you're there! There is very minimal seating on stools and it's very... More

Called in here today for a couple of their Giant Cookies. Oat & Raisin and A Dark Chocolate. What a fantastic treat. Too much for one person to eat so we shared one and ate the other later in the day. This is a must visit. We've never tasted cookies like these. Highly Recommended

While I didn't get the level of gooeyness some people did with my cookie - it was crisp on the outside, soft on the inside and melty choc goodness was there. The flavour was no disappointment. I can see what the hype is for, spot on!

Nestled in New York City's Upper West Side, Levain headquarters is a cozy neighborhood bakery where locals are greeted by name. A steady stream of loyal regulars stand side by side with tourists, eager to sample the legendary baked goods. From an inventive array of rustic breads to the world-famous six-ounce chocolate chip walnut cookie, everything is baked on-site, fresh every day from the finest natural ingredients. What doesn't sell that day goes to help feed the hungry-a mission that has been solidly in place since the beginning. The bakery was founded in 1994 by friends Connie McDonald and Pam Weekes. At the time, Connie was in banking and Pam in Fashion. The two, both competitive swimmers, trained together for the Ironman and-not surprisingly, as their tireless workouts left them feeling starved for great food- they began a passionate dialog about creating the world's greatest chocolate chip cookie. Within just a few years, Levain Bakery had become a neighborhood institution and a destination for epicurious travelers from around the world. Demand continued to grow. In 2000, to satisfy their regular clientele summering in the Hamptons, the two opened a second bakery in the village of Wainscott on Long Island's East End. And today, through their website, they now ship their world-famous cookies to happy fans around the globe.
