The one thing against this restaurant is the loud music - they could turn it down some. The rest is great! - enough room around the tables, delicious food selections, good wine.

The restaurant was very busy but food served without delay, Feta and homus dips sensational as was the fried calamari, for mains the hanger steak, sword fish and Scallops where treat. Managed to squeeze in the chocolate mouse and fresh cream sensational. The restaurant has an extensive wine... More

My daughter took us there for brunch on a Sunday. We did not have a reservation and after waiting for a while we ended up eating at the bar. The service was really good from the guys behind the bar. The place was constantly packed in a great atmosphere. The brunch menu is kind of limited but pretty good. And... More

Went here for brunch on a Sunday. The atmosphere was ok. The service was slow and the food was very bland. Even after adding salt, pepper and hot peppers, it was bland. Not worth the money. The bottomless mimosas were ok but not the best. Surprised it has a Michelin recommendation.

We had a table for 5 in this very swanky restaurant the apetizers were outstanding! We ordered the crunchy calamari, the fried octopus, The falafel, the artichoke and it was all top notch. For the main course we ordered the baked Bronzino, The lamb shank, the duck, the flat iron steak and the Halibut. All dishes were 5 stars. This... More

I've been going to Barbounia for years, would say that I've been to this restaurant more than any other in NYC. Always busy on just about every night. Great food, great ambiance, great service. Get the grilled Octopus and the Branzino. Enjoy.

We didn't book for here, just walked in, and were very surprised to find a high quality Greek restaurant serving a range of dishes, plus some non-Greek, and we all really enjoyed the food. The service was also quick and helpful, with a nice table in quite interesting surroundings. A really nice place for an authentic lunch, and not overly... More

Popped in here for a quick business dinner and wished we could have stayed longer. A cold early March weekday but the place was rammed: plenty of atmosphere, perhaps even a bit too noisy if you're looking for a quiet chat. Selection of appetisers delicious - hummus, calamari, cauliflower and then the mains consistently good - lamb kebab and fish... More

Went here for Brunch with friends on a Saturday afternoon. We couldn't get seated as one of our friends was late but they did accommodate two of its at a table top and took our drink order. The hoast and waiters were so nice and attentive. When we were seated, the great service continued. My friend dropped humus and two... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
