My wife and i stopped for drinks to kill some time before a dinner reservation and really enjoyed it. There is a wonderful selection of Belgian beer on tap and although we didn't eat anything other than an order of bitterballen the menu was very appealing with Belgian classics such as mussels done seven different wayd, carbonnade, stuffed endive and... I went on Monday to Majestic Theatre to buy tickets for The Phantom of the Opera in Broadway next day (Tuesday). Then we wanted to go to the hotel (Times Square, Double Tree Suites by Hilton), but something caught our eye: my sister is fan of Thibaut Courtois and the Red Devils (like me) and I saw a picture of... Superbe experience... Manager is a Belgian and knows how to run a Belgian bar! Try the Duvel... Start with the Duvel Green and afterwards try the normal Duvel... Be careful it's not only the best beer in the world it is also strong;)

Was looking for a reasonably priced brunch place in the neighborhood for a small group, but not a tourist trap, and this place turned up from my search - it fit the bill. Easy to miss, and from the outside looks like nothing impressive. Inside was clean and comfortable, a small, cozy pub atmosphere. Not the biggest dining area fyi.... More

This place is a comfy, cozy, run-down shabby bar/restaurant in the Theater District. It is next door to the Town Hall and across the street from the Sondheim. It's the kind of place you wish you had where you live. Between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. it fills up with yuppies from the nearby offices, but they are there to drink... More

We sat at the bar. It was a little noisy, but not overwhelming. The mussels were great and the wine reasonable. The place has a nice French Country type atmosphere, and yes this is a Belgian Restaurant. Great for a chic drink.

The mussels were some of the best that I have ever had. Only wish that there was a "sampler" platter with a couple of different kinds...say 1/2 pound of each variety. Great service! We will be back.

Great atmosphere and staff with excellent food and drinks and excellent value for money! It's situated just off Times Square on West 43rd Street but does not charge Times Square prices and much better quality of food, service and atmosphere!

As a Belgian visiting New York one should have a drink or eat at BXL Café. It looks like a cosy, crowded 'bruin café' with a large bar, Belgian beers and Belgian food. It's a great place to have drinks but the food is not really good. French fires that were brown & tasted a bit burned, and the 'carbonades'... More

We wanted a place for drinks post theatre. Our hotel was just a few doors down from BXL. This is an unpretentious bar, We had such a good time! Great bartending, and just one of those places friends hang out. The real side of NYC, steps from Broadway :)

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
