This place is hands down our favorite place in NYC. Food and drinks were awesome. Jeremy the bartender was the man - showed us other places around the city

We went here on our second night in New York and were pleasantly surprised: To say it is located near Times Square, this cafe felt relatively quiet and cosy, and offered lovely food at very reasonable prices. It also had Leffe Blonde beer on draught, which is a major plus in my book!

We found this by chance offering an $18 lunch menu with moules/frites, one of our favourites. It was a good choice; the service was informal but friendly and excellent, the food was fresh and tasty and the price also included a drink and plenty of fresh bread.

We were there 3 years ago and went again 2 years ago. The first time is because we were going to a theatre near this restaurant and we had time to have lunch. We went by this restaurant, went in and had a wonderful experience very authentic food. It reminded us of Belgium. We had the mussels and other dishes.... More

In a neighborhood owned by crowded, touristy jaunts, BXL is a solid, quiet and good cafe/bar. I had the croque monsieur sandwich which haunts my best dreams since I finished it (about a week ago). The sauce was great, the cheese was great, it was fantastic. Beer list is Belgian and expansive. If you're a "beer snob," this is a... More

From the Flemish music being played in the restroom to the Eurocup matches on the tv's, this place is like a little piece of Belgium not too far from Times Square. It serves the typical moules and frites (mussels and french fries) and a great selection on Belgian beers in tap. My only complaint is that it was too warm.... More

We stumbled across this bar while wandering the area and needed a drink. We love Belgium and Belgian beer so it was an easy choice. There's plenty of choice for drinks and on our second visit we ordered some bar snacks. We shared the spicy chicken wings and a portion of fries - both were massive and very tasty. The... More

This was authentic Belgian food. The mussels rivaled our trip to Brussels. Affordable, great atmosphere, good service, and huge beer selection. It's not fancy, but it's awesome.

As a Belgian on a businesstrip, I needed to try our local cuisine in another continent. The employees are very helpfull and cheery, I was seated very quickly and I could order within a couple of minutes. I had Carbonade flamande, a dish that every household in Belgium has their own recipe for it. The meat was very tender and... More

Directly across from the the Sondheim Theatre. Went before a show. Nice little bistro. Enjoyed the French Onion Soup and the Salad Provencale. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly service.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
