Beautiful spring day walking Central Park, we decide to make this day even more special, lunch at Palm Court at the Plaza Hotel. It is just as elegant as ever and the service was impeccable. It was calm, quiet and paced perfectly. We started with 2 appetizers, Mediterranean sampler and Fois Gras with a rhubarb jelly on top- both fabulous.... More

I've been to Palm Court for lunch and afternoon tea. The décor is great. The food is always only ok. Our most recent visit was by far the worst of our 3 visits. The staff was less attentive and chatting amongst themselves. The afternoon tea was only ok with sandwiches being the worst (I left three of the sandwiches untouched).... More

We thought having drinks was a nice way of sampling this iconic hotel without having to pay the room rate! We waited a few minutes for a table in the Palm Court and when we got served it was a lovely experience but the waitress had half of the room to cover (there were two waitresses working the whole room)... Visiting NYC and decided to come for a fancy breakfast at the Plaza. The food was average - staff weren't particularly welcoming and it had an awkwardly quiet atmosphere

We were in the neighborhood so how could we resist visiting the iconic Plaza Hotel? We ended up here late on a Saturday night and the place was pretty quiet. The drinks are $20+ so we just had a few and then moved on.

My daughter had arranged for a special celebration for her, my granddaughter and myself after shopping at the American Girl Store. Initially, we were going to do the tea but at the price point of $75.00 per person I felt that was too much to spend for a menu of teas, finger sandwiches and sweets. We ended up ordering from... I went on a girls trip with my mom to NYC and we really enjoyed the high tea at the palm court restaurant. The mini sandwiches and desserts were amazing! We ordered the tropical herbal tea and it was by far the best herbal tea I've ever tasted! Although the sandwiches are small, it was extremely filling. We didn't even... More

Description
Geoffrey Zakarian has re-launched the iconic Palm Court at The PLAZA HOTEL with a complete renovation helmed by Master Architect Thierry Despont. Zakarian showcases classic American menus from morning to evening, and while staying true to its original design intent, Despont has brought the grand feeling of Central Park indoors, with garden elements such as caning, large potted plants, four soaring palm trees and an oval trellised bar anchoring the room, creating an ambience that feels warm, private and glamorous. Bespoke furnishings provide a relaxed, yet elegant setting well-suited for either a professional breakfast meeting or an evening of cocktails crafted by mixologist Brian Van Flandern. Afternoon Tea truly shines as well with custom tableware and china, a tea list with worldly depth, and of course, a bit of Eloise too. This elegant room marked with its stained glass dome and impressive height adds a touch of old New York to a very polished and modern sense of hospitality

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
