It was the perfect American Bistro when they were opened. I knew all the staff and the owner Don. Too bad Dresner's was a great neighborhood place that kept Yorkville alive! So sad.

Eight of us went on a Saturday night with reservtions for 6:30PM. We were seated right away. The waiter who took our order was surly. One male tried to inform the waiter of what his wife was ordering. The waiter insisted he had to take the orders his way; meaning the waiter would go around the table and have each... More

Our family of three had lunch here. Service was polite and pleasant. The food was fine, nothing spectacular, but not bad. I had a chicken pot pie that was just good, my wife had a grilled vegetable plate that she enjoyed, and our son had a salad that he found quite ordinary. There are a couple of small tables in... Want a taste of where the typical New Yorker goes for a bite in the neighborhood? Go here. Food is very good, staff is friendly, price is right. It has been in the Upper East Side for over 80 years and you'll find all types of people there. Young, old, married, single, you name it.

My wife and I went to Dresner's last night after not going for over a year (as it just was not good at all). Well, sorry to say, but it's still below par. Service was incredibly slow - took two hours for a soup and hamburger. Soup was fine, but the burger was small and the fries greasy and limp.... More

Starting eating here lately after a 15 year hiatus . First 3 times were fairly good to really good. Last 2 meals were mediocre to just plain bad . Tonight had the skirt steak and both wife's and mine were way off the mark. The cuts of meat did not look right , and the meat had an off taste... More

The food was good but the waiter was rude and cranky. The tip I left was TWO DOLLARS too short for him. He accosted me at the door and intimidated my client. NEVER AGAIN!

Local place that I have gone to for years and always felt comfortable. The restaurant and food are good and consistent but the bar has changed. My advice, hit this place on Weds and Thurs nights. Great bartender on those nights.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
