I got lunch here, and ordered a chicken salad, which was very good. The service was also excellent, although they did mess up the order, but corrected it quick with almost no waiting time. The waiters were kind and welcoming.

Had a lovely breakfast here today, it's such a great atmosphere, real old fashioned feel to the place. It's a wonderful place to people watch and great when the windows are opened up on a warm day.

We stopped for coffee, but ended up eating dinner. The service was friendly and quick, attentive without being annoying. We had the fried calamari (light & crispy, super tender), mussels with wine tomato sauce, salmon with dijon sauce, which came with spinach and sweet potato, and carrot cake. Nothing fancy, but delicious comfort food in generous servings. It's small but... More

Stopped at the bus stop cafe by chance. Brilliant food and very friendly. I knew the food would be good due to how happy the chefs are while they work.

I had lunch at The Bus Stop with friends on a Saturday afternoon. It's a great, low-key, local place with good food. Ambience is neighborhood NYC. Do not expect anything fancy or upscale. A relaxed atmosphere that delivers well-prepared "comfort food".

The Bus Stop is a friendly place to get a reasonably priced meal in this gentrified neighborhood. There were many regulars on for early dinners tonight and the staff knows them. The wine was fine, the bread crunchy. The pasta cooked properly and generous. Not a gourmet stop, but a comfy and friendly one. I would go back.

The bus stop cafe is worth a stop. In front of Abingdon Square Park (Greenwich Village), the tables outside resemble the cafés of Paris. The beer is served very cold, to the taste of the Brazilian people, the pasta with the seafood sauce is just like the one served in Italy. The service is excellent, especially the waiter Alex who... This one has been around for years and is as welcoming as ever. Very reasonable prices in a neighbourhood not known for reasonable prices, is popular at all times. Fish and Chips special today was excellent and they have specials for lunch during the week.

We stopped in here for a late lunch, and were delighted with the service and ambience. It is a small place, with banquet seating and a small bar towards the back. Very welcoming; food was simple, yet tasty, and served promptly. Reasonable coffee and attentive service throughout.

My favourite breakfast spot in NYC - great value, huge portions and fresh, wholesome food. Loved it!

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
