We stopped in for lunch after visiting the Met. No reservations but the staff accommodated us quickly. Service a bit brusque but food was delicious (and pricy!). Desserts were amazing. All in all a special treat but be prepared to pay!

There's something marvelous about dining, ordering a meal or catering and it being consistently delicious. SA consistently turns out high quality yummy food. They are happy to accommodate requests and handle allergies with a smile. They have almond milk to put in lattes and delicious...More

Sant Ambroeus is convenient to the Metropolitan Museum and of course to the stores of Madison Avenue. It is an informal cafe with more comfortable, formal seating in the back where you order off a menu. There are delicious pastries, tarts and desserts to go....More

It's a small, intimate restaurant which I believe to be Northern Italian. The restaurant is extremely refined. A bit formal in style. The greatest thing about this restaurant is their takeout. In the front. They have the most delicious small, Delectable sandwiches which are a...More

Practically across from the Breuer museum, Sant Ambroeus always reminds me of my days in Rome. I love having their wonderful cappuccino in the morning or in mid-afternoon standing at the bar (they make mine just right, always decaf with no milk but with a...More

This is a good neighborhood Italian restaurant. Good food and nice ambiance. I had a delicious pasta and try the chocolate sorbet - delicious! This place is also nice for an afternoon cappuccino or expresso.

The cappuccino is delicious and so good. Even in Italy is difficult to find this quality. The bar looks exactly as an Italian bar...I love this place! Sadly this time I couldn't have a meal there...next time I won't miss it!

We felt like being in a elderly house. All those ladies who were pushed in in their weelchairs. But the tea wa excellent. Minor point is the bathroom which was not clean.

Description
Shortly after the original Sant Ambroeus opened its doors in Milan in 1936, a devoted following emerged. This celebrated pasticceria and confetteria became the meeting place for the local intelligentsia, whether beginning their day with Sant Ambroeus’s legendary cappuccino and cornetto, savoring panini at lunch, or spending their evening enjoying refined cuisine in the restaurant’s elegant dining room. We translated these old-world sensibilities of Sant Ambroeus to modern times, and imported our rich culinary traditions to New York. Each of our restaurants remains authentic to our Milanese origins, and we continue to serve our culturally inspired delectables in a casual yet elegant environment.
