Authentic Japanese environment, well-mannered waiters spending all night over your table truly amazing cuisine and beautiful people from Village. EN is really a Japanese oasis in the heart of NYC.

Beautiful place with really excellent and beautifully prepared dishes. Service, however, is inattentive and almost non-existent.

We had a omakase course dinner at the counter that overlooks cooking area. Each dish of the multi course dinner tasted as good as it looks. Japanese cuisine with some subtle twists here and there. The space is lofty and spacious with the double height ceiling. The atmosphere is dark and dramatic.

Generally like our Japanese food very traditional. However, the kaiseki at En Brasserie was creative and delicious. Best homemade tofu we have had in years. Good spot for sharing a meal with friends. Friendly, knowledgeable bartenders. Extensive shochu selection.

You might think you were in times square for a moment in a place like this. The cheap decor only highlights the cheap service and low quality food. I paid almost $40 for a fish that was obviously frozen for more than a day (the smell alone, let alone rigid texture, made things pretty obvious). Most of the flavors were... More

Visited with my best friend for my birthday - it was amazing. The restaurant was very busy and we had to wait for a table even though our concierge had booked for us. We were given complimentary cocktails, possibly one of the nicest things I have ever drank - sharp and sweet with tiny balls/grains of grapefruit exploding in your... More

When it comes to dine at Japanese restaurant in N.Y., it's always hit- and -miss. I have been coming to EN since they opened. First of all , I love the ambulance, decor and high ceiling. Service and food are consistently excellent therefore I always can't wait to go back there. This time, I had "Omakase" at the counter prepared... More

Very popular resturant with a lot of guests, both from Japan, Asia, US and Europe. The Staff welcome you with a common HEY. No tables for 2 in the main room, you are placed by the Kitchen or a big round table. I am not so fond of that. I like a table for 2. Choose among a lot of... More

We had dinner on a crowded evening. We booked at 7pm, as we were running late i called around 6.50pm informing that we might be 10-15 minutes late. The bureaucratic sounding employee informed that they had a 15min delay table policy. I replied that given the crazy traffic and the fact that i was calling on my way i should... More

This is definitely one of the best Japanese restaurants I've ever been to! The food was very delicious and authentic, the atmosphere - great! The restaurant has a modern design with dimmed light which created a cosy feeling. We throughly enjoyed the services - the staff was very helpful and attentive. We highly recommend EN Japanese Brasserie

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
