My second visit at this restaurant and I enjoyed so much. Excellent service , tasty meals and good prices , I recommend to all who want to feel the authentic American kosher meal. I strongly recommend the kreplach soup and half corned beef sandwich for $16.99 Don't miss it!

Great food, great value, great service. More than you could possibly eat. The staff, and I assume a gentleman who owns this Kosher deli were over the top nice, without being in your face on top of you all the time. A must go to place when in the upper west side.

This Deli is located on 72nd Street and Columbus Avenue very close to Central Park and within walking distance to the New York Historical Society and the Museum of Natural History. The service is friendly and I liked the Matzo Ball soup and 1/2 sandwich combo with Pastrami (in my opinion a "must try" in a Deli) .The neighborhood is... More

Could not decide between pastrami and corned beef so our waitress suggested half of each! (One hug for her). Son had the reuben, wife ordered potato pancakes (for all of us as appetizer) and a bagel with the works (lox, cream cheese, etc) and daughter-in-law had a hamburger (it looked like 3/4 lb. to me). The only disappointment were the potato... More

While Carnegie Deli receives more acclaim, Fine and Shapiro on New York's Upper West Side is equally as good and has been around decades and decades to boot. It's got a real, old style Jewish cultural flair to the food and wait staff. If you order the pastrami sandwich, which is out of this world, my suggestion is to pay... More

The waitress made everyone sick with her oppressive perfume, but her service was worse than her perfume. There were only two other tables that were occupied and the waitress kept walking away when we were talking her giving her our order, e.g. "Would you like anything to drink?" "I'll have a-----" The waitress walked away. She wasn't called away, she... More

I have been going to Fine and Shapiro for over 25 years and probably will continue, but today was the first time I've ever been disappointed enough to leave a $2 tip on a $16 meal. Normally I'd put a twenty down and call it a day. The food was delicious as usual but the service very disappointing and very... More

Had lunch here. I had matzoh-ball soup and potato pancakes, my wife the half-sandwich and soup lunch special. The soup was only OK: the 2nd aAve. Deli on 3rd Ave's is much better. Her sandwich was good -- lots of meat, tasty bread and mustard. My potato pancakes were not, too thick and overfried. All the usual fixings (half-sour and... More
