I would walk 500 miles to get to this Pizzeria. Thrilled I had a chance to share it with my children. Its a BIG Slice of NYC memories, and the pizza is amazing.

Very good with gluten free option and informed on celiac food safety. Some of freshest pizza I've tasted anywhere. Highly recommend this establishment.

I hate writing this review. Hate it. My dad took me here when I was six years old the first time. Been my number one spot for pizza, my gold standard since 1971. It's a place of historic significance in my culinary universe. No more. We moved to Maine in 2002 and every time we come back to NYC we... More

...worth a visit if you're hungry. Service was friendly and food was served promptly. Liked the atmosphere and the room next door was better, we thought. Reasonably priced and we would return. Bleecker St is iconic to us tourists.

A few people recommended this place so we gave it a try, and it has now been added to our list of "to visit" places for any NYC trip. Compared to what you'd pay elsewhere in Manhattan for dinner, this is great food for a fair price, and the atmosphere (an old church) offers an interesting touch.

We loved this pizza joint. Interesting story about its origins. The pizza oven definitely makes a delicious pizza. We tried the calzone with sausage and the pizza with sliced meatballs. The calzone was extra cheesy. The only downside was the temperature in the restaurant got very warm, I'm guessing because of the pizza ovens. Other than that, it was a... More

Wanted a quick dinner before an 8pm show. Ordered a large margherita pizza (served 4) for carry out. Service was efficient, order came promptly, and pizza was delicious. What more could you ask for? Looks like a fine place to eat in-house too.

This place was a little door that takes you into this super restaurant in the heart of New York. The pizza was amazing and so much of it. We also got a discount from the New York pass. Highly recommend this place.

We came across Johns and went in. We were asked to wait outside (quite rudely) . As there was a fair sized queue we figured it would be worth the wait. We were seated after about 40 mins. The pizza is ok - nothing special. You will pay $20 for a large plain pizza and each topping is an extra... More

Pizza was awesome. We ordered the margarita pizza with pepperoni. Pizza was hot and fresh.... once it arrived. I would have given them 5 stars if our order wasn't forgotten about. We had just landed and were waiting for our room to be ready. The front desk at our hotel suggested this place. So of course we were starving and... More

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
