We had lunch here as part of our Waldorf tour. I had the hamburger and fries and let me tell you the hamburger was the best that I have ever had and the fries were right up there, as well. My sister LOVES a good burger so the night before our lunch I googled "best hamburger in NY" and found... More

My son thought it was the best steak he has ever had. Great ambience and service. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this classic restaurant. I would highly recommend.

Four of us went for the early ‘Show menu’, which requires you to be seated by 6 p.m. It is a set, fixed price menu for two diners. It allows for a Waldorf salad starter and a fantastic steak main. The dessert was a bread and butter pudding with ice cream, which came in two bowls. A bit disconcerting if... More

loved the evenings in this facility, part of the Waldorf Astoria. Relaxing chatting and taking in the New York Vibe . Expensive drinks ... but worth it

Had the Bull & Bear Burger along with fries and Mimosa today for lunch which was excellent. Just sad to see it closing due to restoration of the building.

If you are going to drop the kind of money they charge for food and drink, I want to be WOWED. I wasn't. It was just OK. Very dark. I think you can find better options for the same money.

This is definitely a must do if you can afford it. The rich ambiance tells stories of captains of industry over the years and is no doubt a bucket list item. Certainly not cheap but the steak and food were exceptional, as was our waitress Cheryl (thank you). Whatever she recommended was fantastic...from the wine, to the steak/fish and then... More

Imagine a classic steakhouse. Dark panels, soft lights, Tiffany lamps. Those images all originated from the Bull & Bear, the quintessential NYC steak house. The steak is great. Get the Chateaubriand. It's for 2. Portions are HUGE. Order and split accordingly. Wine list is very small for a nice restaurant.

We always visit the Bull & Bear every time we are on Manhattan and we have never been disappointed, on the contrary. The food is always impeccable, the service is great and the atmosphere is stunning. Highly recommended!

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
