We hadn't been here in years and stopped in last month just before they closed for renovations. The interior was just as charming and romantic as it was 20 years ago, and is one of the few bargains left in the neighborhood. We ordered the...More

One of our favorite restaurants - delicious authentic French food at reasonable bistro prices without the haughty attitude. But you'll have to wait until they reopen. Btw - the famous chef is Jean George, may as well spell it correctly if you're going to comment...More

Do not bother to go to this restaurant. Jon George is a brilliant chef, and love his other restaurants, but this restaurant is the forgotten soul. Dated interior, suffocating service...someone was by to ask how things were about every 5 minutes. We started out fairly...More

The title of my review gives some idea of the setting. Jojo is a nice nouveau French bistro. So here's the good - nice decor, "cozy" (the quotes are a hint of the bad), romantic - sort of, food was creative and quite good. Wife...More

Description
JoJo offers relaxed yet elegant dining on two floors of a quaint, turn-of-the-century brownstone on the Upper East Side. The first of Jean-Georges’ restaurants in New York City, this neighborhood gem opened in 1991 to rave reviews. It was voted best new restaurant of the year by Esquire magazine and has retained its three-star status from the New York Times for 21 years. Regarding the name, JoJo was Chef Jean-Georges’ nickname as a young boy. Jojo is a hospitable setting for a casual dinner, special occasion, or private party. Guests can feel comfortable in jeans or in evening attire. The contemporary French menu still features some well-loved original dishes, including the Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake.
