Was going to see a play so we decided we wanted a good dinner but it was late in the week to get one. Have been to Hourglass before and enjoyed it very much. We got there early... 4:30 pm. There was 5 in our party and Jason was our server. Excellent bartender, providing great service for drink and food.Also... More

Our group of 8 (2 families of 4) came hungry (with teens) after seeing an afternoon show. What a great surprise! The staff was as friendly in person as on the phone when we reserved. Our large group was placed on the top (third) floor of the old building that houses the tavern. The food was straightforward, good and satisfying.... More

I've been living in Europe but whenever I'm back in NYC I make sure to get to the Hourglass. I had one last day of theatre with my niece before heading back across the pond and this is one of her favorite places to be taken for dinner. As a former vegan who couldn't give up bacon I don't ever... More

Made reservations and walked a few blocks to find a quaint 3 story nice place to eat dinner with another couple. All four meals were well liked. Prices are so reasonable. Cocktails, wine or beer. Definitely worth the time. If going to see Kinky Boots, it's a block away, catch dinner at 5:45, see the 8pm show.

The decor and the food were both so so, and our group found it to be the least inspiring restaurant we went to in several days of pre-theater dining. I made my reservation based on the reviews I had read, but I can't imagine how it scored so high.

I actually come here frequently, and not just because Im hungry and/or lazy to make myself something to eat at home, but because I feel this is 'my home'! The staff is welcoming, fun, and direct. Maria especially is a key contributor to this establishment and has always been helpful in menu suggestions. Josh has always been accommodating and allowed... More

We were traveling with a group of parents for a Track event. We met up with a group close to 10:45. We didn't call until 10 pm, and they were super accommodating for our party of 10...Beth spoke to my husband and told us she would happily fit us in to their third floor dining room. Everyone was happy with... More

I was there with my friend for brunch today. This restaurant has a downstairs and upstairs I sat downstairs, a bit small but I was never un comfortable, a note that during very cold weather you will feel the wind when the doors are open, so maybe upstairs may be the best ( I was fine and didn't even visit... The ambiance of this place is charming and the staff attentive. Expect a nice menu with enough variety to please everyone. The food, however, isn't fabulous. Many meals come with mashed potatoes that are buttered, but otherwise dry and bland. The food isn't served piping hot, something that really bothers me. Their basalmic dressing is good, but the salad is... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
