A real Italian chef would be ashamed of the generic stuff they serve here. Red sauce is diced tomatoes apparently straight from the can, and the veg is mass feeding carrots and green beans. They get you in and out fast but the resemblance to real Italian cooking is skiggy

Excellent food, excellent service, and the owner or manager cared whether or not we were enjoying our time and food. I highly recommend this place and I would definitely go back if in the area again. All 4 meals were awesome.

Absolutely awful! Poor quality food cooked in a fast food style, terrible tasteless vegetables, overcooked deep-fried fish in a greasy sauce, smelly surroundings. Avoid!

About 10 blocks from natural history museum, this is one of the better Italian restaurants in the neighborhood, mostly due to the fresh pastas offered on the menu. Its a neighborhood restaurant, its been on Seinfeld, the pasta is above average - some dishes you can only find here, especially the Mafaldina al Sugo di Carne, wide fettuchine loaded with... More

My dining companion and I enjoyed our meals at Pomodoro Rosso Ristorante on Columbus Avenue near Lincoln Center. Service was efficient and the food was served in tasteful presentations that had generous portions. Focaccia bread, olives and olive oil were served with our cocktails. We enjoyed the Pomodoro Bellini. The pasta e fagioli soup was warm and hearty with sumptuous... More

Very generous portions of really good tasting Italian - almost family style size. We had the truffle fries and grilled calamari which were both nice. The kids enjoyed both. I had the seafood pasta which was perfect. The pasta with meat sauce was the best dish ordered by the table. The wine list was good and the owner kept checking... More

This is the best restaurant in the area. We've been going there for 15 years and always have a great experience. The atmosphere is warm, the service very good and the food is excellent. The owner Peter and his staff understand hospitality and great food.

When you enter Pomodoro you feel like family right away. Peter knows all his regulars and gives them a huge greeting. It's a quaint restaurant with lots of warmth in it. The waiters are professional and very accommodating. If there's something you want that isn't on the menu that's not a problem for them. Any food allergy, not a problem... More

Or, in the case of Pomodoro Rosso, pasta with fresh tomatoes and basil sauce. It's cooked to perfection, including the pasta “al dente”. The sirloin sandwich with mushrooms and onions, delicious. Wine list not much, but sensibly priced. Service pretty good, except for the mess they leave on the table when they pick up the dirty dishes. Bread “American (or... More
