We travel to NYC a lot for meetings, theater, opera--and we always make a reservation at Rosa Mexicano--truly fabulous fare. The dozen or so times we have been we have liked everything from the decor to the service and especially the delicious food. Can't wait to go again. Thank you Rosa Mexicano--keep up the good/great/spectacular work. An always grateful customer.

Their Guacamole is exactly as I like it - avocados ripe perfectly and all ingredients in the exact proportions. It is also attractive Guac to be prepared table side. It is a little bit pricey, but the portion is generous and the quality is perfect. Carnitas are OK - I liked the combination with the grilled pineapple. And Churros were... More

Rosa Mexicano may have become a bit of a chain with sites across New York and the US, but the expansion hasn't undermined the quality of the food. This two-tiered restaurant (featuring a loong flight of stairs) is a comfortable spot for Mexican that breaks out of the usual fare and explores newer, bolder flavors and combinations. The selections for... More

The welcome was warm and genuine, the food excellent and the fresh fruit cocktail wonderful. The water feature covering the wall needs maintenance and cleaned. But everything else 100%

I had avoided Rosa Mexicano for years because the well known guacamole made table side seemed gimmicky but having exhausted restaurants near Lincoln Center we finally tried it. The guacamole was actually very good albeit a bit too salty. If I went again, I would ask for less salt as well as omitting the raw onions as I did on... More

Rosa Mexicano, You are one of my favorite restaurants so please don't slide downhill! On our last visit the table side guacamole continued to be excellent but our other dishes were just average. Enchiladas Mestiza could have used more crema and queso fresca. The Tampiquena de Carne Asada was also just okay with the steak being a little tough, though... More

Went on recommendation from a friend. Service was incredibly friendly and helpful. Food was lovely. Would recommend the freshly made guacamole and the roasted poblano chile. And good value. Best meal we had on our trip.

I have been here a handful of times now, it is truly one the best in the city. A little on the bigger side, so if you are looking for a more smaller more intimate spot, this may not be for you. Nevertheless, it is still very authentic, terrific food, great service. And really delicious guacamole and margaritas.

We had a great meal here. The guacamole is YUMMY!!! I like the interior and the staff is very service-minded. My food was ok, not to exciting. But when I added the guacamole, it tasted great. It was a Saturday night, so it was very busy. The sound-level was very high. And the waiter was a bit to eager to... More

Great Mexican food for a chain. I am Not a chain fan. Super guacamole prepared table side. Good salsa. Good drinks. Plenty of chips. Excellent service. Second floor windows are great for sightseeing and watching the Lincoln Center crowds. Very good enchiladas and good seafood. Worth a visit. Besides the staircase to the second floor there is a hidden elevator--ask.

Description
Our highly anticipated second Rosa Mexicano location opened in July 2000. Just steps away from Lincoln Center, this impressive David Rockwell-designed space features a 30-foot iridescent blue tile water wall that spans both levels of the restaurant and is adorned with 240 miniature cliff divers. Here you’ll also find a dramatic “floating” staircase made of orange and red terrazzo slabs and backlit panels behind the bar embedded with rose petals. Awarded “Best Restaurant 2000” by Interiors Magazine, this unique, contemporary look ushered in a new era for us at Rosa Mexicano.
