I can't say enough good things about the food. I never truly understood bread dipped in olive oil until Salon de Tapas. My friend and I went here one night by accident. We were looking for a restaurant we couldn't find. I "Yelped" this restaurant and I fell so deeply in love, I took myself on a date one night.... More

We searched for nearby tapas because that's what our son wished for on our weekend Memorial Day trip to NYC. What a find! It was a hot day and we walked several blocks to find it. Lots of great options on the way but we persevered and we're so glad we did. Small, neighborhood restaurant typical NYC. We asked if... More

Very good location near Washington Square. Amazing place. Paella Marinera was superb! I hope to come back here next time in New York!

Okay, so I didn't have the tapas (no time, had go to a show), but what we had was pretty good. The steak was big and juicy. Staff is friendly, but when it's busy, so have to put your arm up to get the attention. Service is good, not too slow. Entourage is fun, with murals and accessories - they... More

I think the people who work there have no concept of what tapas are. The waiter seemed impatient, annoyed and indifferent. Three separate people came to take the order... Nobody bothered to refill the water until you repeatedly ask for it. The vegetable paella was horrific Goya box-prepared yellow rice with vegetables cooked to a mushy pulp. The white asparagus... I wanted to lick the plate to get every drop of the garlic shrimp. The stuffed lobster was out of this world. I also really like the "potato chips" they were really hot and hard to stop eating. The margaritas were strong, but good. The service was friendly and helpful. I have brought large groups of my family there and... More

We were drawn in by the fancy decor and the interesting menu. What we got instead was watered down sangria, goya-out of the box yellow rice, and oscar mayer "chorizo" dressed in fancy garnish. We ordered the quail tapas, and who knows if what we got was actually quail or just chicken wings. For the rest of the night our... More

We have been to this place many times and love it. The tapas are great every time. Our favorites are the cheese platter, garlic shrimp and chorizo. The mojitos are very strong, so be aware of that. They use mango rum instead of mango puree, which makes them way too strong for my liking. If you go in the summer... More

Really, I'd give it 3.5 stars. Very mediocre tapas but we had a nice table in the back patio for a group of 7 and really just enjoyed the atmosphere. Good place to enjoy conversation, tapas and sangria with close friends at reasonable prices.

I have to disagree with the previous review. I've been to this restaurant many many times and it was a great experience everytime. In the summer, there is an open patio where you can sit outside and enjoy tapas and sangria (one of the better sangrias in the city, not to sugary and still full of flavor). Try the lamb... More
