We'd been at an opera on the Upper East Side, and felt like finishing the day by celebrating Oktoberfest. It's been quite a while since we visited Heidelberg, and it was within walking distance, so we walked up to Yorkville. It was an unnaturally warm...More

Great meal of authentic German with delicious pretzels, sausage and Hollandaise eggs on potato pancakes. We had the kids and dogs there for brunch and would def come back.

Recently returned from a trip to Europe including Cologne and German food was still on my mind I guess, otherwise probably would have walked right by the Heidelberg without giving it a second thought. A small sign and less than eye-catching exterior, the interior atmosphere...More

I dined here recently with my husband, cousin, and a friend. My cousin had wanted to check this historic restaurant out for quite sometime, and we all agreed to try iy. The area was historically German, and indeed, there are still a few German holdouts....More

We are regular customers here, and love the food. Generally the service matches. Not last night. Our waiter, Eastern European dressed in black, was terrible. He got our drinks order wrong. When we pointed it out, there was no apology, just a mild interrogation to...More

It was good for a change. If you like pretzels, you are really in the correct place. I had the duck, and they sure know how to roast it. Excellent

I stopped for lunch at Heidelberg Restaurant today -- home of dirndls and lederhosen and all kinds of German/American decorations. Service was fast and very pleasant, but I worried a bit about cleanliness; the place is definitely showing its age. I tried a sampling of...More

Great pork dinner! Crispy, delicious skin and moist inside. My son had the kassler. Very good as well. The boiled potato could be fresher. The sauerkraut was good. The apple strudel was tasty. Nice experience.
