Nice cozy place to go for French fare. Prices are in line with other NYC restaurants. For $24 you get a nice salad, French onion soup, glass of wine and dessert. French bread is also put on the table. Good deal! Can get crowded but worth the visit.

We chose this cute French restaurant to for our daughters surprise meeting for her 18th bday. The manager also played along with the surprise! The cod I had was very well prepared. The service was friendly and efficient. Overall a great meal

We have been visiting La Bonnie Soupe for almost 20 years now. It's simple but elegant, classic but not stuffy, affordable but not cheap. We have never been disappointed. It's like visiting old friends. The onion soup is always savory, hot, crusty with gobs of melted cheese. We dined here on New Year's Eve with another couple and had a... More

This is a tiny restaurant tucked away that is a gem in New York. Have been visiting La Bonne Soups for years for lunch every time we visit the city. It has been in business for many, many years. Cozy atmosphere and great service. Our favorite is the cheese fondue with their French onion soup. Food quality is alway excellent.... More

I used to love this little bistro for its atmosphere and very cozy surrounding and would visit this place very often. Unfortunately, my experience today was far from pleasant. My girlfriend and I spent 3 hours at this bistro, we ordered food, wine, deserts, coffee and $250 later we were planning on continuing our night at the bistro and invited... More

On a cold, rainy January day, this is a great place to stop in for a hot bowl of delicious soups, salads, sandwiches and the like. The onion soup is out of this world, as is the potato and leek soup. A superb salade nicoise is served with a delicious house-made dressing. Warm and friendly service is included!

It's a small but cozy place, hasn't got that many tables and does not take reservations for parties of two, but I still loved it.

A lovely Christmas week lunch. Made reservations for 1 pm and seated by 1:15. Excellent given the holidays. Three opted for the soup which came with a large salad, wine or beer, and dessert. Good food and the soups (Onion and Tomato) were fresh and filling. I opted for ham, cheese and mushroom crepe and salad. Fresh and filling. The... More

Service OK, Ambience OK. But absolutely nothing French about the place at all. Food very ordinary. Steak main courses average. Quiche main course greasy and tasteless. Charcuterie main course absolutely terrible with an assortment of pates and hams that defy description. NEVER EVEN CONTEMPLATE THIS PLACE
