A group of 8 of us went early Sunday morning and easily found seating. If you are looking for a NY deli experience but away from super packed touristy Katz, this is the place for you. The menu is super extensive. We went for: - Chicken soup with giant matzah ball: Pretty plain and no nonsense. Pallet cleanser - Pastrami... More

I'd researched and salivated over this place before my trip to NYC and wasn't disappointed when I got there. I had the Steak and Eggs and was stunned at the size of the piece of Sirloin (at least 12oz) and it tasted as good as it looked. My brother had the Eggs Benedict which looked and tasted amazing. The service... More

As an original New Yorker, I have had many years of experience with NY Deli food. Sarge's is one the best Establishments that I have had the pleasure of patronizing. We had a Reuben, corned beef sandwich, potato latke, and cheesecake to go. All were a 10/10. At lunch hour it was quite busy, and the server assigned to us... More

Chose here over Katz's as this has waiter service, quieter, cheaper and arguably better. Had pastrami and corned beef sandwich with a side of fries followed by an enormous piece of peanut butter cheesecake with whole reece's cups in it!! My wife had turkey sandwich followed by strawberry cheesecake. The whole meal was brilliant with great, cheerful and friendly staff.... More

Great dishes, great service! We wanted somewhere away from the tourist restaurants and this was a gem! French toast, pancakes or full breakfasts and even fish dishes, they had everything!

Recent trip to NYC – I was disappointed by the recent closing of Carnegie deli, Never been overly impressed by Katzes and wanted a true New York deli experience. Read about Sarges in an article of the best delis in New York and they did not disappoint. I've been to second Avenue deli and this blows it away – Barney... More

I went here as a gift to myself on my 50th birthday. I'm a pastrami fanatic and I'm always looking for the next best one. Well, I was not disappointed. I ordered my pastrami with a little extra fat and it was very, very good. In my opinion, the best is Pastrami Queen, followed by Eisenberg's, then Sarge's. Also, their... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
