The Pearl Oyster bar has a small menu, because they have perfected these select dishes. Why change something that is excellent? I always get the lobster roll and my husband always gets 1.5lb grilled lobster. We always leave satisfied! This time, we sampled the shrimp cocktail as our appetizer. Four giant shrimp cooked to perfection! This Alabama girl will continue... More

We go to Pearl Oyster bar every time we're in NYC. I'm sure the entire menu is delicious but we can't get beyond the lobster roll and oysters on the half shell. The lobster roll is served on a buttery split bun. Be careful not to drop any of the huge lobster chunks that overflow the roll. Shoestring fries on... More

It had been a number of years but last Saturday night, the Pearl was as good, if not better than ever. Lobster is the main attraction and two of our number indulged - one broiled and one lobster roll. Each was excellent and the quantity of meat in the roll exceptionally generous. My neighbour went with the scallops with gnocchi... More

If you live in a state and lobster is not cheap or available but dreamed of it. This is the place your dream becomes true. We started with the mussels very fresh and tasty. The lobster roll comes in a soft roll that alone is wow the lobster is plentiful and wow. You must try it. Thanks for a memorable... More

This is a popular place so we went early on a Saturday and got right in. Very fresh food in a "charming" location, the lobster roll was almost out shined by the shoestring french fries! It was all delicious. Also got the celery root slaw and it was a nice addition. It is a bit pricey, but special occasion worthy... More

Every time we visit New York we eat at Pearl - especially for my wife to have the lobster roll and shoestring fries - they are to die for! This time I had the New England clam chowder - only problem was that it wasn't big enough serve! You can't reserve seating at Pearl so be prepared to stand in... More

This is a really fun place. It is not large, and sometimes you will have to wait, but it is worth it. The seafood is fantastic; high quality and fresh. Sitting at the bar was really fun and would do it next time. (yes there will be a next time) The bartender was friendly and very helpful. The bonus is... More

If you're looking for oysters in a small, intimate place with character of an old New York neighborhood, go to Pearl. The lobster roll came highly recommended by someone and it was definitely amazing. Went there before we went to the Blue Note a few blocks away. Great wine list.

I went on a Thursday night, no queue to get in and sat down immediately. Great, friendly service and lobster roll with shoestring fries was amazing. Slightly disappointed with the wine list, mostly mediocre French and Italian wines being sold at a high price by the glass. Such a shame as there are so many great wines from those regions... More

Pearl's is so much fun! The loose, comfortable, relaxed atmosphere with some history provides a perfect setting for a completely satisfying culinary experience. Fresh seafood? It doesn't get any better. Lobster? The lobster rolls are renowned. Home made pie? Terrific. We always sit at the marble topped bar where occasionally we glimpse into the tiny bustling kitchen. The chefs are... More

Description
Pearl Oyster Bar opened as a 21-seat Seafood restaurant in 1997 to extraordinary acclaim.
It was the first establishment in NYC to serve New England cuisine and popularized the lobster roll, never before served in New York. Pearl was also responsible for the upscale oyster bar trend and dining at the bar.
The restaurant expanded in 2003 and is considered a New York Classic. Celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2017.

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
