We were just wandering around and stumbled upon the restaurant. I really like Ethiopian food and the restaurant delivered a really good meal. We ordered a meat and a veggie and it was delicious. The "spongy bread" just soaked up the flavors and we wobbled out, feeling like our day had been made. This is not a fancy restaurant. The... More

We visited the restaurant for the third time as we live 2 blocks away. We like the food and the relax atmosphere of the restaurant. As mentioned by over reviews, they have two set of tables, traditional and western style plus a bar with a TV. The service is low key, very friendly, providing good advice. We took samosas as... We were curious to try Ethiopian food and when we discovered the Queen of Sheba a few steps from our hotel decided to give it a try. We ordered a selection of vegetable wats (a stew or curry) and one beef variety. All were delicious. The meat was beautifully tender and the sauces full of flavour and spice. The wats... More

My husband surprised me with a date night! Dinner and a show! - We had both never tried Ethiopian food before and wasn't sure what to expect but this place was GORGEOUS. I'm literally salivating remembering the food! We both can't wait to go back. As long as you don't mind eating without cutlery you will be fine! One word...... More

We never had Ethiopian Food before and decided to try this place. It was perfect. We had the Taste of Sheba getting a nice mix of everything. It was a great start for new comers to Ethiopian Food. We are definitely going back..especially for their Menchet Abesh Alecha and Bozena Shiro!!

My party had never eaten Ethiopian before so we headed here based on reviews and it was fantastic. We had the sampler and added chicken and it was so good. Our waitress was FANTASTIC. She advised us of all the dishes and how to eat the food (came all on one platter and with the bread to eat with). It's... More

It's my first time with Ethiopian cuisine, I was told this was the best. They do gluten free. We had a vegetarian mixed platter and lamb spicy dish. I love spicy food, the Channa dhal and green beans were good, the lamb tasted like it was not cooked in the sauce just added. The bread was like a limp pancake.... More

We love ethopian food and this was the first place we tried in NYC. I really enjoyed the vegetarian platter, dishes tasted like others I have had. They were out of sambusas, which was a disappointment, and why I rated it 4 stars. I was pleased with the cleanliness of this place. They had one waitress who seemed do to... More

When we arrived at the restaurant it was very busy. We were seated within a few minutes. This place is very noisy but recommended by family who live in the city. Our drink order was taken immediately with our dinner order. The drinks came promptly but the dinner came after quite a wait. We had ordered our appetizers to be... More

About a month ago, my wife, my daughter, and I were walking in Central Park. we decided that we wanted to eat Ethiopian food and walked to Queen of Sheba. It was a great choice. There were lots of vegetarian options. The portions are generous. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who enjoys Ethiopian food.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
