This place has some of the greatest Ukrainian food(other then my Babushka's Borscht)I have ever had. It is decently priced for the great quality of the food. The service is,however, horrible, and the waiters have always been rude to me and my family.

This restaurant offers a wide selection of Ukranian food - which is, actually, very similar to food from central Europe. Prices are not too high, but we had to wait outside to be seated and, even if it was March, there was snow and extremely...More

Veselka plates say that they've been around since 1954 -- 63 years -- and ya gotta figure they are doin' somethin' right. My #1 special - 2 eggs, toast, tea( or java), 4 oz's of OJ + a potato latke w/ apple sauce was $7.50...More

Veselka has hands-down the best cold borscht in NYC (and their varenyky are some of the best in the city, too). But packed-seating is the curse which comes with serving good food and being located in the East Village. If you want to check it...More

For a Eastern European diner this place does great business. The bread is excellent and help them make the best French toast in NYC. Great place for cheese blintzes and pork or chicken cutlets. Fun delicious food. Decent service but not exceptional. Tight seating.

Ordered the Madame Alexander sandwich for lunch and she did not disappoint. Wife shared a pierrogi that was great with cheese filling. Pretty waitress was ultra efficient, grabbing plate when lowering fork from last bite. Neat place on LES.

East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village,
which offers plenty of unique small businesses
catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college
students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the
old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still
experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned
shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of
