Great food. Steaks are are huge and cooked to perfection. Bring your mortgage it ain't cheap but worth it for an awesome night out. I've been here several times and the service os great too. The picture I posted tells you how much this guy loves Keens.

We went there for late dinner after a Rangers game and was seated promptly in the bar area. My wife had a Cobb Salad which was delicious and I had Turkey Schnitzel which was good, not great. A lively place with attentive service.

We booked Keens for Thanksgiving Dinner on the recommendation of a friend who knows his restaurants! Expectations were therefore high. We had travelled to NYC from the UK with our son (who is himself a Chef in a Michelin Star restaurant). This restaurant lived up to our expectations and beyond. We booked via Open Table in advance to ensure we... More

We have been here several times before and love the place. The decor is old-fashioned and cozy. The clay pipes are nostalgic and interesting to see. The place exudes testosterone. The service was good. But the food is great. The mutton chop is spectacular! The porterhouse is perfectly cooked, juicy and tender! The appetizers and sides are exactly what you'd... More

Had a tremendous dinner without knowing at all what to expect. Staying at eh Gansvoort and just needed to eat later in the evening and came across this place. Waiter took care of us and they even had a rare Bourbon that I own but have never opened so we splurged and it was amazing. A dining experience never to... More

I don't make reservations to eat here. I go to the bar, see the man who runs the pub (cool area between main dining room and bar) where its first come first served. It's the best. The scotch selection in the bar is unmatched, the porterhouse for two is a perfect dry aged masterpiece and the banana Foster's to finish... More

We enjoyed dinner at Keens Steakhouse and it was very deliscious! Good meat but also good other choices. It has something for everyone. A special hint: try the "Mai Tai" drink. Amazing!

Came in on a wednesday night before going to a concert at Madison, we hadn´t reserved a table so we had to wait for about 20 minutes, which was okay. We sat in a comfy Chesterfield in the reception and got to really soak up the atmosphere of the place. We had a really nice waitor, who helped us choose... More

While looking for interesting places to eat while in NYC, I found this place called Keens Steakhouse. Founded in 1885, this place is a serious old school steakhouse, and the kicker was, their house specialty was MUTTON CHOPS. So after a long day of sightseeing, this was the perfect place to get my meat fix on. It was packed but... More

Dined here on a Monday night with reservations. We didn't like the first table we were seated at which was located by the door. Hostess was very gracious to move our table to a quaint little spot for easy talking. The waiter was excellent. Never seemed to hover and gave us great space. We dined on two filets, mashed potatoes... More

Description
Keens Steakhouse, a classic New York chophouse, was already famous for its steaks and chops at the turn of the century. Founded in 1885, Keens has 90,000 clay pipes that line the ceilings – pipes once smoked by customers after dinner. Today Keens legendary mutton chops and dry aged prime steaks are still without equal in the city.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
