Very accommodating hostess and seated us without a reservation (had to show up right when it opened). Even though we sat a a tale in the back corner of the bar, the atmosphere was still enjoyable. The waiter was just good, but that was all that was needed. The food was delicious (escargot and sushi for me) and all 3... More

I've been here often and have always had very good food and service either before or after the theater. This visit was neither. It was to meet a few friends from out of town for dinner. I chose this restaurant because I was sure everyone would like it and I was correct. The ambiance is French. The staff is attentive... More

Marseille is just the right level of unpretentious French cuisine somewhere midway between a French bistro and French city restaurant. Good location. Rich but not overabundant menu and good mid range wine selection. Refreshingly priced after eating in some other places in uptown.

Have been here twice now for late night dessert and coffee. Both times were great. I have tried quite a few of their desserts and they have all been delicious. Their coffee and after dinner drinks may be pricey but this is a great place for a late night dessert and coffee of after dinner cocktail.

Good location, at the core of Ninth Avenue but not charisma. Plain food for tourist with bad service, waiters seems to be mad all the time. If you sit outdoors you can be easily ignored. Do not waste your time at this place.

We have been going to Marseille for many years. Whether you go for lunch, brunch, dinner or just drinks the restaurant never disappoints. Charming atmosphere, great service and you simply can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Perfect location when you have theatre tickets.

Marseille is one of the few theatre-district eateries where you can actually have a conversation and the tables are not two inches apart. High ceilings, very attractive décor and professional service seem to be Marseille hallmarks. Though I frequent eateries in the theatre district, this was my first Marseille visit: Twas for a New Year's brunch I hosted for three... More

Stumbled across this place whilst searching for a decent restaurant as our hotel did not have one. Good find staff very helpful and friendly and the food excellent. Quite busy so that speaks volumes for repeat customers. Good selection of foods in a pleasant atmosphere. Not the cheapest but it is New York and the food was very good. Would... More

Most of my reviews are from around the world. However, I am a NYer. I should have written this review years ago! As NYers, with so many options, this has been one of our "regulars." We have been coming 4 - 8 times a year since it opened. In all the years, we have not been disappointed even once (there... More

My family ate here recently. It was my second time here. The food was good, and service was fine. That said, the manager and wine steward, waiter and hostess all annoyingly paid more attention to a lone diner at the table next to us, than anyone else. They all talked very loudly, and it was a non-stop parade to this... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
