This place is amazing! The service was first class and the food was awesome. I have been to a few Greek restaurants and this is by far one of the best. I would highly recommend this place for a family gathering or a dinner before or after seeing a show.

In the bustling City of New York, Molyvous is a bit of calm....despite a thriving restaurant business. The dining rooms are quietly attractive. The service is professional yet friendly. The menu is diversified with many items you won't find many places (i.e. deep-fried feta sticks or 4 toast points topped with sardines.), wedges of pita is a nice option to... More

Catching up with friends in manhattan. Nice place for drinks and dinner. Starters pita breadwith tarramoselata+ lamb parcels. Then red snapper with octopus & lemon garlic potatoes. Followed by desert . Excellent food and nice ambience . Around $65/head + tip . A good choice try it

We have eaten here at least half a dozen times over the past year, and have generally enjoyed our meals. However, last night my partner ordered the dolmades main course at an after-theater meal with friends. Much to our surprise, the serving consisted of only 5 small pieces, with nothing else on the plate. The waiter assured us that that... More

Convenient for theater go-ers but sadly, the food has really gone down hill here. I live in NYC and LOVE Greek food here. I went with my family because it was convenient before a show. Bad idea. The Taramosalata was very uneven and large chunks of potato were not well blended in. The crudites for the dips had been soaking... More

We had our Easter lunch in this nice and elegant restaurant . We had Dolmades ( highly recommended prefect taste and quantity ), lamp ( marvelous taste ) , gemista or stuffed peppers ( tasty and it was well noticed that the pepper was peeled ) and chicken ( ok classic dish nothing special ) . Also we ordered melitzanosalata... More

We ate here after a concert in Carnegie Hall. It is just around the corner less than 100 yards. Very nice decor and service was excellent. The food was very good, but not revelatory.

After having a nice meal with family and finishing dessert the maitre d comes up to us and tells us we have to leave. I have never experienced this before that I can recall and I have traveled to 27 countries across the world. There were tables still available for many sized groups. It was 8 o'clock so there was... Before a show and after a later lunch, we were worried that we might end up with limited choices to make a lighter and tasty meal for the four of us, but were delighted to find tasty starters and small dishes. The Shrimp Saganaki and Grill Octopus were especially well prepared, the Lamb pie was fine and the Spanakopia was... More

Some of the best Greek food we've had in NYC. The prix fixe menu is excellent value. We had the generous beet salad, the grilled salmon on a bed of roasted eggplant, and the bougatsa for dessert (pastry filled with a warm custard) -- all delicious. One of us ordered a grilled fish with lemon and olive oil, also excellent... More

Inspired by the traditions and heritage of the Greek islands and mainland, Molyvos has been one of New York's most beloved Greek restaurants since its opening in 1997. Named after the seaside village on the Greek island of Lesvos where the Livanos family roots originate, Molyvos is known throughout Manhattan for its rustic Greek country cooking. Executive Chef Carlos Carreto takes diners on a Grecian culinary journey through a variety of mezedes and appetizers, as well as hyper-local specialty Greek cheese and honey, fresh fish, wild greens and savory pies - all accompanied by the largest all-Greek wine list in the U.S.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
